5.0 out of 5 stars Not For Fluff Bunnies, September 30, 2003
This review is from: Greater Key of Solomon (Paperback)
It's no surprise that most wiccans don't realize that much of the ceremonial embellishments that are practiced within the tradition of Wicca come from this body of material which Gerald Gardner added from Pieces of Free Masonry. As a good friend put it to me "The Keys of Solomon are what the Christians hallucinated the Jews were doing in the middle ages; all the Angels in the material are all really Pagan Gods". This body of work is not for the faint of heart but for most committed and mentally strong Magicians to take in hand. Those of you that gave it a one star rating might as well go in the corner, curl up with a Silver Ravenwolf book and Suck your thumbs. It is hard work but it's extremely rewarding for those that have the aptitude for this type of Magickal work. But unfortunately this system can be extremely dangerous to work for there is no room for error and that's besides the fact the Angels can be quite mischievous. The only reason Wiccans would have a problem theologically with this material is if they come to Wicca as a form of rejection of the Christian faith and not to embrace Wicca for it's nurturing and healing aspects. Those of you morons that approached this Material without finishing, you're in deep doo doo; for the Angels of the Sephroths will hunt you down until you do!

4.0 out of 5 stars good stuff, August 2, 2006

This review is from: Greater Key of Solomon (Paperback)
This first is to Celtic Wizard "haritasha". Um. do little research before displaying your ignorance - there are 2 books, the Greater Key and the Lesser Key both translated by a singular man named Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers (Liddell soemtimes with one l). The lesser Key was seemingly inspired by the Greater, both books being from at least as early as the 17th century (the Greater more like from the 15th) and obviously rewritten from material perhaps centuries older.
On to the review. Sorry to say I have only read excerpts so far but it seems to be a very thorough take me by the hand approach to summoning spirits except that the style and terms are, obviously, archaic and somewhat obtuse. Nevertheless, and excellent additon to the library of the serious Wiccan, Templar, or Mage.

3.0 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for, February 7, 2008
This review is from: The Greater Key of Solomon (Paperback)
I definitely was expecting more. I thought I was buying the entire book and not just a photo copied cut down version of the book. Then again, for 10 bucks it was probably too good to be true. It did have some interesting information and some of the symbols were a little difficult to decipher as the pages looked as though they took the original book and copied them on a copy machine or a scanner. Bottom line, don't expect too much from this copy. They did ship in a timely manner though.
