3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best collection
Go out and grab the first two albums if you're able. This collection of really isn't the best representation of Cockney Rejects. It's missing such greats as East End. And as all you West Ham fans know, it lacks their rendition of Forever Blowing Bubbles.

I really hate it when people say things like "The band Sham 69 was supposs to be." No offense guy, but which ever music critic first came up with that one is an idiot. Sham 69 were never "Supposs" to be anything. They were a great legendary punk band. Period! The Cockney Rejects always have been and always will be second rate when compared to Sham 69 in their heyday. Although the Cockney Rejects do have some great songs, this cd is hardly representative of that. Stick to "Greatest Hits Vol. one" and "Vol. Two", and you will have all the Rejects you could ever need. For completeists only.

The Cockney Rejects, formed by the two Geggus brothers, got their start by attracting the attention of Gary Bushell in May of '79 (Bushell was a extremely influencial journalist for the magazine SOUNDS). Bushell liked their tape enough to put them in conatct with Jimmy Pursey, the frontman for the late Sham 69 who helped the Rejects produce their demo tape which, later that year, was released on vinyl as the FLARES AND SLIPPERS E.P.(on the SMALL WONDERS label.) Their sound was greatly enjoyed by old Sham and Menace fans which gained them an impressive following. One that is, to this day, still strong. The Rejects gained a lot of respect with the way they handled violence at their shows. If trouble started the band would wade out into the crowd and put it down themselves. They've played with the likes of Tyneside's Angelic Upstarts and Kidz Next Door who was headed by Jimmy Pursey's younger brother, Rob. Fans of Sham 69, Angelic Upstarts, and Menace will feel right at home with the Rejects' sound. This CD is well worth every dollar (or pound), and I highly reccomend the song "Police Car".
