This review is from: Carol Douglas - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This Greatest Hits includes the complete Midnight Love Affair Suite but does'nt include the complete Suite for I Want to Stay With You, which is a disappointment...I just purchased it on another release that does...Including the complete Midnight Love Affair Suite compilates some of the best Disco music in theatrical medley form...

The uncrown queen of soulful 70s disco,
By A Customer
This review is from: Carol Douglas - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
We've all heard of the Beegees and other known groups of the 70s but Carol Douglas is the soulful pioneer of disco music. Listening to her music gives you the same sense of realizing between real art and imitators. Carol is the real deal. Night Fever, and Dancing Queen sound like familiar titles, but Carol was the one who brought these songs to life and then better known artists took and ran w/her creations. Her most engrossing song is "midnight love affair". In midnight love affair, Carol and her duetmate take the listener on a bonified disco romance tale. Girl meets Guy-Girl and Guy contemplate their encounter and where to go-Sounds simple enough..but what Carol brings to the table is an endearing voice w/such a smooth aftertone, that you wish you could be there in the story with her. Anyone who's a 70s music aficionado should own this greatest hits album because it embodies everything that current poppy milenium music is not. It's original, it's sincere, and hits home.
