I can not believe the first review on this CD . That the reviewer is complaining that the song I Love You isn't included is bad enough , but 10 of 13 people actually agree with him .
What it says is ..not many people are actually familiar with the Climax Blues Band's music . They associate them with the song that is most atypical of their work. My guess is that the first reviewer and most people in general confuse the CBB with the band Climax who had an equally mushy hit with " Precious And Few " ....and it's a real shame because the CBB were one of the great blues bands of their day . You've got some great blues songs on here like Country Hat , a live version of Willie Dixon's Spoonful , a really good version of Sonny Boy Williamson's Don't Start Me Talking , a killer live version of Shake Your Love .
You've even got the title song from the very obscure Sense Of Direction album . All in all a nice collection

I've been a big fan of Climax Blues Band since the seventies. It was only recently that I even became aware of the song "I Love You." Although it's a nice song, it is not typical of the majority of the band's output over the years. If "I Love You" is what you're after, and that is the only song you know by CBB, you might be better off to pick up "Cherish: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack." The other songs on that album probably fit better with "I Love You" than the majority of CBB's songs.

Now if you're interested in an introduction to the music of Climax Blues Band, this collection is a pretty good place to start.

THIS SET WOULD DESERVE 5 STARS EXCEPT IT IS MISSING PERHAPS THEIR BIGGEST HIT OF ALL. IN FACT THE SONG ISN'T AVAILABLE ANYWHERE. THE SONG IS 'I LOVE YOU' FROM 'FLYING THE FLAG'.

With all due respect to the last reviewer, just because a 20 track cd is missing one song is no reason to discount the CBB's great career. Actually leaving "I Love You" off this disc is a favor to the band. "I Love You" was a do or die attempt to get another hit single - well beneath the integrity of the band. 20 great songs - what more do you want?
