5.0 out of 5 stars Queen's Best Album, August 12, 2001
By
Released shortly before Freddie's death in 1991, Greatest Hits 2 is a fitting tribute to one of (if not THE) greatest bands of all time.

The album covers queen's highlights from the early 80's to the early 90's. During this period, Queen's fame rocketed to even further heights around the world but, sadly, declined in America. To any American people wanting to know if Queen still had 'it' after the 70's, the answer is YES, and even more so. Greatest Hits 2 is arguably better than the first. Whilst none of the tracks here may not match the likes of 'Bohemian Rhapsody' or 'We Are The Champions', we are left with a much more consistent compilation.

The album kicks off with 'A Kind Of Magic', a soaring pop hit. The other more mainstream hits include 'Radio Ga Ga' and 'I Want To Break Free,. 'Who Wants To Live Forever' and 'The Show Must Go On' are two of the most moving ballads Queen ever produced.

What sets this compilation apart from the first though, are the harder, rockier songs. Queen's stadium rock songs seemed to rock harder than ever before. This may explain why this album isn't as universally appreciated as the first. 'I Want It All', 'Breakthrough', 'Hammer To Fall' and 'One Vision' still get my adrenaline rushing every time I hear them. 'The Miracle' and 'Innuendo' proves that Queen still had that 'Bohemian Rhapsody' style in them.

This is an album no Queen fan should be without, if you are not familiar with these hits, please take the risk and get this album - you won't be dissapointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gimme fried chicken!, August 19, 2004

This second volume of Queen's Greatest Hits covers the years 1981 to 1991. During this time period, Queen's popularity in the US dropped drastically. In fact, only two songs from this CD, "Under Pressure" and "Radio Ga Ga", were legitimate hits in America. In the UK, however, Queen remained as popular as ever. Every song here was a hit in the UK, with nine of them reaching the Top Ten. This CD should prove to Americans what the British knew all along; that Queen was still producing good music after they dropped off of the US charts. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Save your cash, December 6, 2000
Any Queen compilation gets 5 stars in my book, but save your money and buy Greatest Hits I and II on Hollywood records for around the same price. You'll get all these tunes plus a few more and all of hits vol. 1.
