Best available compilation of Janie's music, April 12, 2003
For a brief period in the early eighties, Janie Fricke was the hottest lady in country music, twice being CMA female vocalist of the year, yet she is poorly represented on CD. As I write this review, this compilation is the best currently available collection of her hits.
Janie's albums varied in style but the quality was always high. Some were more pop sounding than others. The more solidly country recordings include Down to my last broken heart, I'll need someone to hold me when I cry, Do me with love and Don't worry about me baby. When she switched to a more poppy sound, she showed she could rock with the best, especially on He's a heartache, though she continued to record wonderful ballads. These include Tell me a lie, which appeared on a Lynn Anderson album in the seventies but Lynn's version was not released as a single.
Janie also recorded many excellent covers. This compilation includes Pass me by, a song often covered by country singers in the seventies by Janie's version is by far the best.
Among the hits missing from this compilation are Always have always will, Somebody else's fire and Easy to please. All these hits were included on Anthology and Celebration, two compilations that are now out of print. Aside from those omissions, this is a fine collection of Janie's music.

One of My Favorities, October 2, 2003
By A Customer
Janie Frickie is one of the few modern artists to ennunciate clearly, so that you can understand every word she sings. Beautiful, smooth voice. This album never disappoints with many wonderful songs, especially Don't Worry 'Bout Me Baby, Down to My Last Broken Heart and Pass Me By (If You're Only Passing Through). No one does these songs as well as Janie. Too bad she has so few CDs available. For a while I couldn't find anything of hers. Now at least a few are available. This is one you should not bypass if you like a singer with a crystal clear voice that is unparalleled. I don't rate many albums as 5-star, but this one certainly is.

We are old Country Music fans., March 10, 2010
We were country when country music was "country". Todays country is too "refined"???. My wife wanted this album so I bought it for her. It has 5 more songs(total 17) than the album I listened to on Amazon. She absolutely loves Janie Frickie's voice and this album.
