What on earth is this mess? This DVD can't be a Chaka Khan product. Who authorized this to be representative of her rich legacy of timeless hits? If anyone wonders if Chaka Khan is ready for retirement, they may have their answer after just a few minutes into this set.

First, lets state the obvious, Chaka's voice and body are both SO out-of-shape here. It's hard to believe she'd just won GRAMMY AWARDS for her recent release 'FUNK THIS'? After hearing this LIVE CD, I'm saying 'FUNK THIS', I think the singing thing is over for Chaka. Acting or speaking may be in the cards?

To her credit, Chaka appears happy and in good spirits throughout the set, however, one would have to question her mental state to decide to go through with the recording and release of this dreck! This is, by far, the absolute worst production from Chaka Khan. I'm very dissapointed!


It's hard to imagine the intense 'I Feel For You' or the sultry 'Ain't Nobody' receiving nothing less than their due, when performed live, but Chaka manages to massacre both songs successfully...and it goes on from there. I felt horrible for the LIVE audience who had to witness this. I'm sure it was quite painful to hear and see Chaka is such bad shape.

If you can't already tell, my main disappointment is with the person(s) who decided to release this MESS to the public. Chaka, this one does nothing to celebrate your legend. I hope you can do better on future releases to render this one insignificant.

Chaka Khan or her management company have NOT authorized the release of this CD or it's companion DVD version. This CD is nothing but an attempt to cash in on Chaka & her recent success at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Do not support the company behind this illegal item.

Wow, this is a train wreck. Chaka Khans voice is nothing like it was when she recorded most of these classics. This really should not have been released. Chakas voice sounds terrible, and on one track she even looses her place in the song and stops singing to get her place back. We were on vacation and needed a CD to listen to, I figured you cant go wrong with these songs.... I WAS WRONG. At times Chaka sounds like a chain smoker coughing and hacking her way thru this music. Just play the original tracks, unless you like paying for garbage.

I am so relieved to learn that this is an unauthorized recording. Chaka was in terrible voice during this concert, and it outrageous that it was released without her consent. She runs out of breath very quickly, so her pitch and tone are off. The excessive rasp in her voice shows vocal cord damage. I would not recommend this recording at all; I actually found it to be depressing. Chaka Khan deserves better than this, and I think that it is admirable that she showed up to the show and performed for her fans when her voice was in this condition.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ALBUM!!!

This album is an UNAUTHORIZED duplication of a live show done by Chaka when she was not in her best voice. The reason it was not released by a reputable, well known label is because it is NOT, and was not approved by Chaka or her representatives.

To ensure that this label does not make ANY profit from this, PLEASE purchase her Grammy Award winning album "Funk This" instead.

It "appears" to me that there are at least five CDs/MP3 albums released between 2008-2010 with different album names and different covers that all have these same live tracks on them in the same order. Many of the reviews for these various releases are not good. I think these CDs/MP3 albums are 1the same 13 tracks from Chaka's 2008 DVD "One Classic Night - Greatest Hits Live", which is from a 2007 show.

Five albums that appear to have the same songs of the same length in the same order (except the last one listed that skips the first track all the others have) are:

You may enjoy the album but just know what you are buying. One could buy several different albums listed above and end up with the same songs repackaged.

Ultra-heavy, pulse-pounding live funk! Chaka's vocals manage cut through the tight, thunderous band! The recording captures the true excitement of a live old school funk show. Can't wait for the DVD release!

I beg to differ with previous reviewers regarding this "Live" CD. Chaka shines (as always) though at times she seemed lost in the mix. Despite that, She churns through most of her significant hits with fire. Whomever the band is, They are simply astounding!!!! They are tighter than a pair of jeans washed on hot cycle. She smokes and they sizzle....This is about the BEST "Live" CD I've ever heard. Some claim it's unauthorized or something of that nature, But obviously it's not illegal, It's not a bootleg, Too bad some business snafu plagued the release of this CD. Don't let that issue deprive the world of one of Chaka's greatest recordings...Other than that, I highly applaud this "Live" outing and recommend it to any serious Chaka fan.

I have listened to this . It's very good actually. There is nothing wrong with the quality of the recording. It is a great selection of some of Chaka's best songs. I think it is a very good album and fans will be interested in hearing this performance.
