Though I purchased the CD as a gift, I did take the time to listen to excerpts from the CD on another site, so I knew what I was getting before hand. I really enjoy this music. It's peppy, inspiring and camp. It also has a sort of tongue in cheek quality about it. Keely Smith is one of the best vocalists of not only hers; but all time.

I ordered this and other Louis Prima albums to celebrate his centennial (he was born in December 1910). I played about an hour of his music on the air on his 100th birthday (I'm a jazz DJ). Prima is the "other Louis" from New Orleans -- like Satchmo, he is a trumpet player, singer and entertainer, but he is often lost in the shadow of the greater one, Mr. Armstrong. Still, Prima is a totally unique package as an entertainer who adapted seamlessly into the rock-and-roll era, with Sam Butera and the Witnesses, plus his perfect foil, wife and singer Keely Smith. I'd love to have seen there Sahara Club lounge act, but this is the next best thing. Giants walked the earth in those days, and Louie Prima was a giant talent.

What I liked about this particular CD was for my 90 yr. old mom to listen while driving her around
town, a huge surprise & smile was upon her when "That Ol' Black Magic" came on!
Memeories of yesteryears as I call it. I want to share these last days of making mama happy, as
our parents get old & cranky at that ripe old age. Anything to see her SMILE is worth it!
I personally like that particular song because it's uplifting happy & toe tapping.
Thank you for having this on your list of millions!

Loui and Keely have always been 2 of my favorite musicians. She has a beautiful voice and he is a funny lunatic. Together, they make music that is bound to make you happy. Listen carefully to their and the musicians timing -- it is precise to the nth degree.
The no-talent clowns that call themselves musicians today could learn a thing or three by listening to these real musicians.
Too bad they are gone..................

If you want to get your blood moving but don't care for what passes for pop music today, try Prima and Smith. I remember seeing them on TV variety shows as a kid and enjoying the humor of their performances; now I realize she had a stellar voice and he was a fantastic musician. Bought it for the so famous "That Old Black Magic" but now love all the tracks.

Fantastic collection. If you're not a fan, you will be. Track 17 is their program and Ms. Smith's exceptional voice.
