You won't see it listed on the back of the album or on Amazon's track listing, but the version of "Joy and Pain" here is a live one taken from "Live From New Orleans". Outside of that the rest of this CD is the first Maze compilation to cover both the Capitol and Warner Brother years. Liner notes tell the story and the compilers use single edits to get as many songs on to 1 CD. A good start for those interested in the sound of Maze.

Someone said how can you go wrong with Maze. They were right. This CD is really phenomenal because you get 18 tracks in one cd and all of gold record hits with some added. It makes a wonderful gift when you want to share love, because that is the outcome of music by Maze/Featuring Frankie Beverly. I personally have bought quite a few and given them as gifts. Simply put it is just that good to me..

I love the music of Maze, but on this CD, you don't get the full-length of the songs as you've heard on the radio. On some songs either, the intro is cut short, or and ending is cut short. Sound quality is fine, but felt jipped when not hearing the full version of the song as expected.

You can't go wrong with this CD. You can't go wrong with MAZE!! I've been a Maze fan since the late 70's and this completes my collection. PICK IT UP!!

Older people are always at a haste to tell the younger generation that the music of today is nothing compared to music of their day. After listening to urban radio, and afterward popping in Maze featuring Frankie Beverly's Greatest Hits, I understand where they are coming from. Not only was this a live band, but their lyrics are profound and Frankie Beverly has a soothing, beautiful voice. He is one of my favorite crooners.

The overall feel of this compilation is laid back and relaxed. Most of the production on this album is similiar in tempo, but trust me, you will not grow tired of hearing this band while listening. They have so much talent, and their greatest hits truly exhibited their expertise. "Feel That You're Feeling" is a really nice song. There is such sincerity in Beverly's voice, you can feel his emotion directly. It is almost impossible to go to a cookout or a get together without hearing "Before I Let Go." This is one timeless party starter! After many years following its release, its wonderful to know that people still enjoy this song so much. "Back In Stride" is another one of Maze's biggest hits. The message is a good one. Even though we have been through a lot, we can still get along and be together. "Happy Feelings" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Everything from the lyrics, to the production is amazing. What detaches this group from many other groups who are similar to them is that they varied in their subject matter. Each and every song talked about something different. That truly shows how much talent this group has.

I highly recommend this album to anyone who is a fan of music because I believe everyone will get something positive from this. Highly recommended!

I just recently saw Maze in concert for the first time and I was not one bit surprised at this band's performance. This band is one of only a few that still plays real instruments and just as I already expected they brought the house down. I was first introduced to the music of Maze at the age of 8 and I am now in my thirties so that gives you an idea of how long I have been a fan. I already have a greatest hits cd by Maze but I will definitely be purchasing this cd as well. I am a Maze fan for life!

Vintage Maze... Smooth, soulful, uplifting and moving. I enjoy listening as I write my books and articles or just to relax. You will enjoy this. My, my my. With songs like "We are one," "Golden Time of Day" and "Joy and Pain" Beverly and Maze fuel the mood, lift the spirit and gladden the heart. If you like anything by Frankie Beverly and Maze, then go ahead, you will be thanking me for this recommendation for years to come.

With quite a few Frankie Beverly & Maze CDs to choose from, I am really happy that I bought the Greatest Hits collection. The tracks are mainstream soul classics with the wonderful vocals of Frankie Beverly. Listening to the CD in my car makes the ride to work in the morning so much smoother.

I love this CD. I had another MAZE cd with just 8 songs on it before I bought this one. I had recently attended a MAZE concert and most of the songs they performed at the concert is on this CD. This is a must have in your collection, especially if you love MAZE. I had the pleasure of meeting them in person(didn't get to meet Mr. Beverly), but they are an aMAZEingly awesome group!
