5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT VINYL SOUND
This is probably the best sounding Morrissey Album since the 90's. Vinyl records today are often cut from Digital Masters used for cds and sound really horrible. This UK pressing is not only above every Morrissey LP of the past 20 years but also any recent vinyl release or re-issue I have heard. Highly recommendable to all Morrissey fans who believe in superiority of LP...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not really a career spanning Greatest Hits
This is a fine album, but it really isn't Morrissey's career spanning greatest hits. Compare this to 2000's The Best of Morrissey, and you can see that many of his greatest hits have not been included on this Greatest Hits album: like Hairdresser on Fire and Interesting Drug. The label should have put out a double CD that really included all the hits of his solo career...

This is a fine album, but it really isn't Morrissey's career spanning greatest hits. Compare this to 2000's The Best of Morrissey, and you can see that many of his greatest hits have not been included on this Greatest Hits album: like Hairdresser on Fire and Interesting Drug. The label should have put out a double CD that really included all the hits of his solo career. Instead they put out an album that highlights his hits since 2000 plus a few hits from before 2000. While I do like many of the songs on this album, for the first time Morrissey buyer, I would recommend The Best of Morrissey so you can enjoy his best music.

3.0 out of 5 stars "GREATEST HITS", "BEST OF...", "VERY BEST OF...", "WORLD OF..." you name it.., June 6, 2011

...You can choose whatever title you want and it will not cover exactly what you will hear...I am an inconditional Moz fan ever since The Smiths era, and by then, The Smiths were fans of making re-editions of singles ("Lounder than Bombs", "Singles", "Best of...", "The World never listen..", just to name a few), and Moz kept that tradition.

Basically this recopilation covers just a handful of songs from what-I-call the first Moz Era (1988-1997) and focus more on the second Moz era (1997-2006) this is not much new to offer except the nice addition of 2 new previously unreleased singles. Looks like the CD was remasterd (or at least cleaned) because the sound is crisp and cleaner than before, also the inner sleeve had a couple of photos (Moz's ass included). The track listing is far from what I expected but as said, I will pick almost whatever Morrissey releases, and for newbies in Morrissey, I wouldn't reccommend this realease (Unless you are a Morrissey Die-hard fan) but I will go with the previous works instead or the VERY BEST OF MORRISSEY which he personally supervised. I will give it a 3.5 if I could.

3.0 out of 5 stars Repetition in TITLE ONLY look at track listing, May 7, 2008

Ah kwitcherbitchin folks, and look at the songs here: Despite the title, this collection is 3/4 material since 2004. Obviously, throwing in a few old classics is his own little tongue in cheek, but really folks, it's not a bad collection at all. Sure, he could have titled it "hits since the last collection" or something clearer.

Look, the vinyl in a nice embossed cover with a giant picture of the Moz as you know and love him. It's on thick vinyl and fabulous. Why all the whining?

The song selection may not be representative of his solo carrier (as noted by other reviewers) but still it is highly enjoyable and the sound quality is simply unmatchable. Therefore highly deserved 5 stars!!! I could only hope Music Companies would listen to this transfer and stop pressing these awful Digital Masterings into vinyl.

5.0 out of 5 stars morrissey, January 18, 2009
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Morrissey was always an obscure artist that I would only hear of periodically. I decided to get a cd after I heard one of the songs on the radio. I love this cd, every song is original and inventive. The rhythmns and songs, mostly British pop, are good stories. It is one cd I can listen to more than one or two times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bought it cause its well worth the $$$, and it has Redondo Beach on it, or does it???, June 16, 2011

This album is only O.K. in content...

I really like Redondo Beach, the Patti Smith song. Grew up in Redondo Beach, South Bay, Ca.

Whats the real story, why Redondo???, why reggae???, Is it a reference to Moz's Max Romeo days??? Interesting...

I thought Moz only like Mexicans. Its a bad joke. Don't get offended, have a tequila and go to an Ozomatli show, go Vero...

The best is that it is on Vinyl and under $20, not $50+ like used scratched Smiths records from Amoeba nowadays...

Why isn't Redondo Beach on the track listing, but it's on the actual record, weird...

Like the other reviews said, it's an alright collection of songs with some classics and some gems.

Just buy the record and download the MP3/CD... the scratchy sound of the record is how this should be heard.

I got a copy of the LP and it was warped and messed up. Some songs were almost playable.

After the intro riff of Suedehead, even with a few skips, I was in Moz Vinyl Heaven. Can't wait for my replacement album.

Morrissey should only be allowed to be heard on record. Any other way is just not the same.

I always hated Everyday Is Like Sunday but on vinyl I caught myself playing guitar and singing along, minus the skips.

Even all warped and messed up it was worth it to hear Morrissey on vinyl. "Ev--er--e---ay---is---ike---und--ay""...

Buy the record and if you dont have a record player go buy one and help the cause to bring back vinyl.
