5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, Excellent, Superb, Wonderful, Terrific!!!, March 18, 1999

Although this album could have had more songs on it (especially from the 1988 "Reba" album), this is a true Greatest Hits classic. With new songs such as "Does He Love You" and "They Asked About You", this package goes to show the new and upcoming country stars that Reba has been doing this since they were in diapers and she will continue to sing and outsell them for decades to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Hits Package, September 14, 2006
This review is from: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
While many of today's country (and for that matter, every other genre) performers crank out "Hits" packages with one or two number one tunes, Reba McEntire put out this disc with a slim ten tunes. With that said, however, all ten of these songs are legitimate hits. From "Rumor Has It" to "You Lie," McEntire does well with the song selection here.

What you get is a small sampling of ten of Reba's best tunes. Many of today's artists struggle to find enough "hits" to compile a hits package, but Reba has been around long enough to simply pull a few tunes from her catalogue and make a solid hits album worthy of purchase. She's in a small group of artists who can do such things. Other names in that list would include George Jones, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Merle Haggard, Alabama, and Dolly Parton. That's good company folks.

My personal favorite on this disc is "Fancy." The entire disc gives the listener a chance to listen to McEntire when she was beginning to loosen her country bindings and feel out other styles of music from blues to broadway. McEntire is savvy, and doesn't need to resort to controversy or pandering to prove just how great of an artist she is.

Purchase this album if you want some great country and pop country tunes. Long before Faith and Tim were considered a "dynamic duo" and the Dixie Chicks were singing Western swing at birthday parties, McEntire was establishing herself as one of the greatest female performers in country music. Also of note is the fact that she made her mark when the country genre was dominated by men.

Highly recommended.

Reba is a very talented vocalist in my book. She is my husband's favorite female country vocalist. He would Like to meet her in person someday. My favorite song of hers is "My Broken Heart". I believe that all country music is wrote from experience. So I can relate to some songs. Well Good Luck to you Reba.

5.0 out of 5 stars What an album!, October 21, 2001

Reba is one of the most gifted singers the world has ever known. On this album, she covers the entire emotional spectrum with some of her biggest hits. Especially noteworthy are "Walk On," "Is There Life Out There," and "Fancy."

If you ever get the chance to see her perform live, take it. She believes in a visual production combined with soaring melodies and heartfelt emotion. With all due respect to Linda Davis, Martina McBride was perfect on "Does He Love You" on the Girls Night Out tour.

Between this album and her third greatest hits collection, Reba sings most of my favorite songs. What a voice!

Excellent collection, from teh standpoint of the country music fan, of hits from one of country's greatest female singers. The songs here are all of top-notch quality, enjoyable by even non-country fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars REAL Talent, August 10, 2006
This review is from: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
Reba McEntire is a legend. She has a true talent for choosing songs that speak to the listener. She's never, to my knowledge, had to remove her foot from her mouth or lost CD sales for being an idiot. She's true to country and true to good old-fashioned American values. This CD is excellent. There isn't a bad song on it. It's solid and true . . . just like Reba!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good greatest hits package, December 18, 2005
This review is from: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
This is some of Reba's best material, and there isn't a bad song on this CD. Some of the best songs on here are, "You Lie", Rumor Has It", "Is There Life Out There", "Fancy", "Does He Love You", and "Walk On". All of these songs except for "Fancy" were #1 hits. The only downside to this album is that it is missing LOTS of songs that were either No. 1s or top tens.

All in all this is a good album and I would recommend it to Reba fans.
