The title says it all,
By Chuck S. (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
If you are a big fan like me, then you already know how great all of these songs are. If you are new to the music of Steve, and want to "catch up" on some of his previous material, this is a great place to start. After that, you'll be wondering just why in the world the individual CD's that these songs came from have been discontinued. "Baby I'm Yours" & "L-O-V-E, Love" rock in Steve Wariner style. "The Domino Theory" is another classic. Slowing it down a bit, try "I Should Be With You". This song, as well as "Baby I'm Yours" and "Hold On" were from his "I Should Be With You" CD, which in my opinion is his 2nd best CD of all time. Tracks 4 thru 6 are from "I Got Dreams", another excellent CD, and the last 4 were from "Laredo", still yet another outstanding record. The folks over at MCA ought to do themselves a favor and reissue these outstanding CD's. Meanwhile, enjoy.

Steve Wariner's soulful voice seems like he is singing to you. You can hear the passion in his voice. I strongly recommend any of Steve's CD's, especcially this one.

Best collection of Steve Wariner,

This review is from: Steve Wariner - Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
This is by far the best collection of Steve Wariner's hits available, simply for the reason that it is the only one which contains the great hit song "Why Goodbye", which is absolutely the best country/pop song ever written or performed, and showcases the best vocal performance of Steve's career. Including the songs "Kansas City Lights" and "All Roads Lead to You" doesn't hurt either. You will hear more of the "pop" side of Steve's talent on this CD, which in my opinion, is the best side.

Vol. 2 of the MCA years,

From 1988's "Baby I'm Yours" to 1991's "There For Awhile", this CD represents the second half of Steve Wariner's tenure while at MCA. The material is top notch, unlike his late 90's disappointing comeback. This CD, along with RCA's super hits, MCA's Greatest Hits 1, I am Ready and Drive, features perhaps some of the very best in country music. Overall, highly recommended!

The Best There Is,
This review is from: Greatest Hits, Vol. 2 (Audio CD)
I have been a tremendous fan of Steves since the early 1980's. I have been to several of his concerts and actually met him. He is like the boy next door, he was very nice and kind. His music is the greatest. He simply lulls you with his lyrics and mellow voice. I have not heard one song of his yet that I have not liked, and he plays a mean guitar. I already have all of his music, but the item I am waiting for is a release of his videos, there was "The Weekend" and "I Should Be With You",to name a few. My hope is that one of his labels, new or old, will release a video. PLEASE!!Lucy B |
