How talented can one man be?,
By A Customer
This review is from: "Wesley Willis - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
I accidently stumbled across this little gem about a month ago, and my life hasn't been the same since. Wesley expresses basic raw emotion, that most people have bred out of them by society. Wesley says what he wants to say, and doesn't beat around the bush. It made me realize how much I was preventing myself from enjoying by keeping my similar emotions bottled up. Way to go Wesley, keep on playing that rock music!

Rock over London, Rock on Chicago...Wesley Willis: Da Man!,
By "omniscientfool" (Beijing, China) - See all my reviews
This review is from: "Wesley Willis - Greatest Hits, Vol. 2" (Audio CD)
What other album can claim to incite hysterical laughter within 15 seconds of listening to ANY track? My first taste was "Stop the Violence," in which he bluntly requests that we "Stop raping women for-crying-out-loud!" In that first 15 seconds, every listener will have made the decision to worship Mr. Willis or throw his album in the trash. As much as I love this 6'5", 300lb., schizophrenic black vagrant who sells his music and art on the streets, one cannot look past the fact that he is something of a novelty act. This novelty WILL wear off with repeated listenings, but one must revel in it until then. Wesley Willis was born a rambling man, a filmed biography waiting to happen. Above all, he is an unbridled, unabashed performer who tells it like it is (to him), and rest assured that it IS downright bizarre. You've never heard anything like him--not even close. One last complaint: if in the liner notes bemoan the difficulty of narrowing the hundreds of albums into one, WHY THE HECK IS THIS LESS THAN AN HOUR LONG! We want more!
