I pre-ordered this knowing that there will only be one new single on the CD ("Lighthouse" co-written by John Shanks and Gary Barlow) IT'S RIDICULOUS FOR PEOPLE TO POST A LOW RATING ON A PRODUCT THEY HAVEN'T PURCHASED. Customers want to know about the actual merchandise, not your personal bias. Don't use Amazon to rant like an immature idiot on something that you haven't purchased. I hope Amazon removes the review I'm speaking of. Since this is a Greatest Hits CD, and I own most of their CD's, I can give a FAIR opinion. Yes, Westlife does many covers, but they do them beautifully. It's their AMAZING vocals that have sold millions of cd's worldwide, and I am buying this CD because I wanted to have all of their "greatest hits" on one CD. Plus, the new single "Lighthouse" is awesome imo.

Been a fan of these lads since I was 9 yrs old. I grew up listening to this amazing boy band in a third world country all the way till now when I moved to the States.I remember the first moment when I fell in love with these guys while accidentally saw their video "Uptown Girl" on MTV. (and back then MTV was a real deal, nowadays all I see is just saggy pants, gold grillz, chain hang low, and shakin booties) Westlife music is not something that you crank it up high, shake your head, and start break out dancing. There is no "swag" whatsoever in their music. That is not how you listen to Westlife. Their music is all about heart-warming love ballads. The kind that you can turn it on in your car and just sit in there, close your eyes, lay back your head, and just hum along. Every hits they make, and every lyric they sing, I swear they all are still here in my head dated back in 1999 with the singles such as: "If I Let You Go", "Swear It Again", and "Flying Without Wings"... The kind of music that can last for a lifetime if you truly are a fan. Don't believe me? If you call yourself a music lover in America, how about try to sing the first verse of the following songs: "Goodies" Ciara "Crank That" Souja Boy "Whatever you Like" T.I "Low" Flo Rida or even "Empire State of Mind" Jay-Z ft. Alicia Keys Still remember? Or you don't even recognize any of them? Let me tell you a hint. *They're all #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S not long ago. The kind that got kids in High School go crazy back when I was a student myself. I admit some of those hits are quite catchy, but music in the U.S are short-lived. They rose to fame on the Billboard for a couple of weeks, and then they are completely forgotten afterward once they got taken over. Even if you're still hang on to those songs, would you feel OK to turn it up loud in your party? Or even in your car with friends riding with you? How would your friends think about you? That your music is awesome? Or you are "Old-Skool" still listening to those "lame old" beat? And then quickly hit the "Next" button searching for the next song that is a little more "current"? Anyways, back to the lads. Except for the time period when I was still living in a third world country where they sold no official release CDs, I bought all of their album releases from Back Home (2007), Where We Are (2009), Gravity (2010), and this one Greatest Hits (2011). All through Amazon of course, because Westlife doesn't exist in USA. Living in the U.S, it is very hard for me to answer the questions "What kind of music you listen to?" "What's your favorite artist?" My friends ask me every time, and my answer has always been the same: "Westlife". The reaction is always: "Who the h*** is Westlife?" (not a surprise). I never try to explain who these lads are to them. I just put on "My Love", "Soledad", "Us Against The World", or "How To Break A Heart" for them to try out. As the result, their reaction afterward is also always the same... THEY LOVED THEM ALL!!! Westlife. My band. My music. My life. Doesn't matter that this is their final album, I will continue to support these lads to the best of my ability despite I am living in a country where no one knows who they are. W4ever,

I lived in the US my entire life. Unfortunately, Westlife never made it big in the US (which made it really difficult to collect all their albums/songs), but in other Countries they are recognized for their singing talent! I feel I've seen quite a bit of comments on Westlife that they are just a cover band, which I don't think is entirely true. Unless I'm mistaken, Westlife sang many original songs that I think are great: Amazing, Bop Bop Baby, Colour My World, Every Little Thing You Do, Flying Without Wings (later covered by Ruben Studdard), Heart Without A Home, How To Break A Heart, I'll See You Again, I Do, I Lay My Love On You, It's You, Lost In You, Maybe Tomorrow, My Love, Obvious, Shadows, Something Right, Talk Me Down (Awesome song!), Until The End Of Time, Us Against The World, When You're Looking Like That, When You Come Around, Where We Are, World Of Our Own, and You Make Me Feel; only to name a few. :)I was actually hoping during the US version of X-Factor, Westlife would make a guest appearance or something (since Simon was involved with their earlier career). Too bad this is their final album. I don't think this or the 2 disc version of this album does their music journey justice. I'm confident that their will be a Platinum Collection set; and I hope Amazon offers it. I just hope their isn't different releases because I'll want to get them all!! If you don't know these guys, you should get their music. They offer many great cover and original songs!!

This is my 12th full length cd of this fantastic Quartet. Their greatest appeal for me lies in their choice of songs - which they always delivered excellently. They stayed with the same winning formula over their 14 year lifespan, and while they deserve the break (if that's what they want) then we should grant them that.
I am however still sad that there will be no more new Westlife releases. I always imported their releases from the UK, because they were sadly very badly neglected in the US; why, I don't know. If you like & enjoy melodious songs that stay zinging in your head, then look no furhter than Westlife. This double CD retrospective is awesome! I miss songs from their "World Of Our Own" CD which I would have included on a greatest hits set, especially "Drive" & "To Be Loved By You". Their rendition of The Judds' hit, "Love Can Build A Bridge" far surpasses the original in all aspects, and is a staple on my turntable, and should also have been on this package. Find this track on 2006's "The Love Album". I also fail to see why "How To Break A Heart" from 2009's "Where We Are" album was left off this collectioin. And the Burt Bacharach/Hal David composition "Please Stay" which (I believe) was only released on the cd single "Safe" is an unbelieveable gem. If you're not familiar with this beauty, then I recommend you buy the "Safe" cd single (while still available in the UK). And to boot it all, they threw in a DVD with many of their awesome early videos - most dating from the days they were a quintet before Brian McFadden left the group in 2004. If you are not familiar with this brilliant once-a-boy-band, now an adult male quartet, buy this 2CD + DVD set while it is still available. I give it very high marks - probably 9.5 out of 10. (The missing 0.5 is for the absence of the missing songs listed above.) Thank you Mark, Shane, Nicky & Kian.... your music will live forever with your many ardent fans like me.

I've been a Westlife fan since 1999. Their music is excellent, and they are amazing individuals. I'm sad that they will be no more Westlife, but this is a great collection. The DVD is absolutely priceless. If you love ballad song, Westlife is a great band to listen to. <3 them so much!
