5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Disc for Casual Fans
I don't understand folks who write critical reviews of a greatest-hits collection because it's redundant, or it doesn't contain all their favorite songs by the artist. If you're a big fan of Trisha, as I am, you already have many of her albums. So, why complain about what's not there. No "Georgia Rain"? No "Real Love Woman" No "I Still Love you More" No "you're Where I belong" :(
If Mca regardless of the fact that yearwood has left the label, wanted to move a new collection of Yearwood's sucess at MCA they needed to make it more interesting. I don't see a long life for this collection on the charts.

If you're a big fan of Trisha, as I am, you already have many of her albums. So, why complain about what's not there. Greatest hits are intended for the casual fans of an artist, and for those, there's plenty to like here, including two previously unreleased tracks. Will I buy this record? No, because I'm a fan and I can put together my own compilation. But for anyone who doesn't already own most of these songs, this will be a great buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Few Songs Missing but Still Good, August 20, 2010

The song "Georgia Rain" isn't included here, but I think it was released too late. The songs I was really surprised not to find were "In Another's Eyes" with Garth Brooks and "That's What I Like About You." Other than those omissions, this is a pretty good collection.

This cd gets 4 stars for it is Trisha Yearwood and any music by her is always impeccable with emotive delivery and an awesome range. Problem is this is yet another greatest hits collection and it was not necessary. It does not surpass SONGBOOK even though it is being released many years later. There are some quality cuts here but also some definite misses. Everyone knows now that cds hold 80 minutes of music and when you get a subpar greatest hits collection and it runs only 60 minutes you say - Why didn't use use all the minutes available?

Quality cuts are of course SHE'S IN LOVE WITH THE BOY, THE WOMAN BEFORE ME, WRONG SIDE OF MEMPHIS, THE SONG REMEMBERS WHEN and THERE GORES MY BABY. There are of course the radio hits, some here and some not. Also, we all have our favorites from her albums. But I am sure for everyone some songs here are considered filler. And again, it is very frustrating when there was 20 more minutes to utilize.

Bottom line - if you want all that is Trisha Yearwood buy this cd. I give it 4 stars because it is Trisha yearwood and all her music is quality. But if I were to to rate the collection itself I would give it 3 stars but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Hope this perspective helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Hits - kind of says it all, October 22, 2010

If you like Trisha Yearwood you probably have all of these songs on other albums - do we call them albums any more? CD? what if it is downloaded? I'm sticking with album. Like any greatest hits album this one is for the person who enjoys the artists music and just wants a few songs. My wife and I like Trisha so this was perfect for us as we tend to buy Greatest Hits albums for most artists that we like.
I'd like to get her cookbook but I think it might result in about 20 extra pounds that I can't afford - Garth looks good with the extra 20lb but I don't think I would : )
Now I feel bad because I know Garth reads my reviews...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Truly Beautiful Album, September 14, 2008
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Trisha has a powerful voice. For this album, she sings with passion and at time emotional. I like the song "Like we never had a broken heart". She really sings with " All my heart" A great track with pleanty of romantics. Truly the "Greatest Hits" from her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strong selection from Yearwood's MCA years, October 12, 2007
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
Trisha Yearwood was one of the biggest Top 40 country hitmakers of the 1990s... This is good introduction to her work -- a rock-solid best-of set that moves steadily through Yearwood's twang-ish 1991 debut through to her more soul-soaked efforts of the decade's end. As is the norm with greatest-hits collections nowadays, there are a couple of new tunes on here as well, Stephanie Davis's "Just A Cup Of Coffee" and "Nothin' To Lose," both produced by longtime collaborator Garth Fundis. "New," that is, taking in consideration that Yearwood and MCA parted ways a while ago, and this is actually stuff from the vaults. For newcomers or old fans looking to consolidate their CD collection, this disc is a worthy update of her previous MCA best-of, "Songbook." (DJ Joe Sixpack)

2.0 out of 5 stars Trisha deserves better than this, September 11, 2007
This review is from: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
First off, for casual or new Trisha fans, this CD is a good introduction to the past 16 years of her hits. But for those of us who have followed this amazing lady's career, this CD is a big letdown.

Now that Trisha has parted ways with MCA, that label could have released a nice, two-disc retrospective. Or, at the very least, MCA should have released a "Greatest Hits, Volume Two" to pick up where her first greatest hits CD, 1997's Songbook, left off. Instead, what we have here is a sad substitute that's just a re-hash of that CD with a few newer singles thrown in. And "Real Live Woman," which I think is Trisha's most autobiographical song, is not included. Bad idea and a completely unnecessary CD. I'm not buying this to replace my copy of 'Songbird' so MCA, this is one consumer you're not ripping off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Missing a few essential tracks, September 11, 2007

This is a fine collection of Trisha's hits through 2001, but it's missing "Down On My Knees" and "In Another's Eyes" from Songbook: A Collection of Hits. Other minor hits missing include "You Can Sleep While I Drive" and "It Wasn't His Child". I can understand why they chose not to make this a 2-disc set, but at 60 minutes, it easily had room for those four tracks.
