5.0 out of 5 stars Hellhounds Greatest Hits, October 6, 2003
This review is from: Greatest & Lastest (Audio CD)
For those of you like me who thought the Hellhounds (the Sats minus Dan Baird, sorry Dan) were a better band than the Georgia Satellites, this is the record for you. It's basically covers played like they owned 'em, which is the way a cover song should come across, right? This record smokes from the first track. "Hand to Mouth" is one of the great Satellites songs - it should have been a hit. I bought the same record as an import from Denmark a few years ago. Glad to see it's easier to get now. Pick it up!

5.0 out of 5 stars no kidding, August 27, 2003

I saw these guys twice in the late 80's, and at their worst, the Satellites were one of the best pure rock 'n' roll bands of all time. Certainly no other 80's band rocked like they did.

4.0 out of 5 stars This CD rocks...!, January 19, 2012
This review is from: Shaken Not Stirred (Audio CD)
This is a great example of the Sattlelites at their finest. Just straight ahead, ballsy bar-room rock n roll. The boys show a little more than just raucous three chord foot stompers on a few tunes, but stay with who they are on the rest and it all mixes together very nicely. I think the Sattlelites could /should be as big as any of the southern rockers (Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, ect.) short of Skynyrd, and I could swear I can hear some Georgia Sattlelites in some of the Black Crowes music. Definitely buy this CD if you want to hear some kick ass rock the way it was meant to be played.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rebuttal to: " At their best the Satellites", July 7, 2002

I haven't purchased this album, yet. But, just by the song selection I know it can't possibly be a flop. And I will purchase it soon along with the others. Mind you I do have some these on vinyl but, I want the CD quality. At their best the Satellites were not,"just a good rock and roll band." I saw the Satellites at a bar (Joseph's Foodliner) in San Antonio, Texas(now closed too bad, they need more bars like that)and the these guys were great. Razor sharp guitar works great rythym section and witty words. And sad to say I paid a buck to see these guys along w/ Jason and the Scorchers, what a shame. I may not be rebel (Southerner)but, I tell you what I am sold on these guys to bad we don't get anymore straight from the hip rock and roll bands like this one.
