When I think of Whitney, I hear this powerful song in my head. RIP lady, you are missed. :(

Whitney Houston was an inspirational, powerful diva. She came from a lineage of soul singers, with Aretha Franklin as her godmother (Respect: The Very Best of) and Dionne Warwick as her cousin (Dionne Warwick - Greatest Hits (1979-1990)) Whitney Houston could turn any pop song into a spiritual. She began her musical career in the Baptist church, she turned "I will always love you" by Dolly Parton into a hymn for love.

Her "Greatest Love of all" is an anthem to self-respect and healthy self-love. Compared to the pop songs nowadays, it's uplifting and inspiring. Whitney Houston had her difficult times, but nobody can take away her dignity. She'll always be a great soul singer (1963-2012)

When it has came down to Whitney Houston, she has been the guiding force in voice, spirit and especially heart with music. This song, was actually the song that got her noticed and signed to Arista in the 80's when she sang backup for her mom, Cissy, at a New York club called Sweetwater, and musically it has been history and beauty from the voice within. It actually became Whitney's third #1 song and just still blows me away in heart and spirit. When I found out that she had died, I was deviated from all spirits and souls. Whitney Houston remains the voice of all voices, and even with her somber passing, her greatest love of all, is that we love her and she always loved us.
