Hip-O Records sends this St. Louis, Mo. (hometown girl) our way, who began singing gospel in her church choir...also learned to play the piano at an early age. Angela Winbush is one of the most underated vocalists in the musical world today. A voice that is extremely smooth with a blend of quality that only class can express. Each listener is captivated by her deep and soulful performances, which comes from working with Al Jarreau and Stevie Wonder as the bug bit her and changed her life for good.

In 1980, she met singer/composer Rene' moore and became "Rene' & Angela" recorded several albums together "Wall To Wall" (1981), "Rise" (1983) and "Street Called Desire" (1986). By 1987, Angela went solo with "Sharp" (1987), "It's The Real Thing" (1989), "Angela Winbush" (1994), "Ultimate Collection" (2001) and now "Greatest Love Songs" (2003), featuring highlights of previous albums mentioned. Her album for 2003 showcases the best of both musical worlds---part duo and her solo performances. What a sexy, vibrant and smooth lady she has become. Everything from beautiful ballads to funk-dance driven with the God-given-talent that only prevails when sharing her emotions with her fans and audience. Don't take my word for it just listen to "HELLO BELOVED", featuring Ronald Isley and Angela with lyrics to die for ~ then we have "YOU HAD A GOOD GIRL", a soulful and mournful message that will stay with you for days ~ and this has to be some of my favorites "SENSUAL LOVER" and "YOUR SMILE", tells it like it is, when Angela takes you under her spell of love, nothing else matters.

Angela Winbush is one of the few true female artist of our time. A voice so unique and rich with a tone that is truly her own signature sound. Many may not know but Angela is one of the best female producers of our era. She is also one of the most beautiful and sexy entertainers ever to grace the stage. If you got a chance to see her live...awesome ! This CD captures the sultry side of Angela completely. I would advise you purchase every song she has ever written including the hits songs that she produced for the Isley Bros. (Between the Sheets CD) and others. Angela where ever you are give us more ! Your're a rare and extreme talent. Your songs are timeless.

For me, Angela has always had a voice to be reckoned with and this collection of love songs just proves the point. Somewhat overlooked, but never underappreciated by her fans, Ms. Wimbush blows the competion out of the water with this effort. And even though her voice is unmatched, her songwriting abilities almost overshadow it. These song are timeless and even though they have been covered by other artist, when Angela sings them you can tell, THEY ARE HER SONGS!!!

Angela Winbush is a Very Talented&Foxy Sister who has so many wonderful Musical Gifts.A Solid Song-Writer,Keyboard Player,Producer,arranger&a Voice that will knock you out.on this Set She showcases Her Gifts&Leaves you wanting more.She has been overlooked far too long to me.

A very good compulation overall,however,"angel",and "lay your troubles down" was omitted.Best of cd"s from the Hippo label tends to omit pretty important tracks from the artist's catologue.

These are some very nice soulful sensual collection of songs from one of the most underrated female vocalist of the last 25 years. Angela Winbush has always had a very nice melodic voice and her songs are quite nice and mellow. I remember the song "My First Love" like yesterday. This is definitely worth the buy.

I am an avid fan of Angela Winbush's music. I have been listening to her music since 1980, when she was singing with Rene. I have followed her career thru the years and love all of her music. I keep her music in my CD changer in the car and in my home. I hope she continues to make excellent music.

I have been listening to the beautiful songstress Angela Winbush for way too many years to remember, and she has yet to disappoint me. This album full of love songs that will take you back to the early days of the (then) duo of Rene and Angela, her amazing solo albums, to her hit after hit collaborations with Ronald Isley, and then some. Try this lady on your body and soul when you want to unwind (with or without) that special someone("Come My Way, "My First Love", "Your Smile", "Imaginary Playmates")or when you want to wind it up with ("No One Has Ever Cared" (Like You), "Sensual Lover", "Too Good To Let You Go", "You Had A Good Girl")etc... I'm telling you there is not one tune on this collection that does not belong there. This lyrical angel has written some of the most touching, soulful and soothing music ever produced in a studio and is the perfect album to introduce yourself to one of the smoothest singers, and one of the best songwriters of all time. Her songs have been sung by many others, but Nobody sings them like Angela. Sing On Angela!!!!!!!! Sing On......

Whew!! I have about every CD and can remember when she sang with Rene. See how I wrote SANG!!! Because girlfriend could blow. On this CD the track "I've learned to respect the power". Will blow you away!! Let's hope Angela comes out with a new album!!
