5.0 out of 5 stars A magical moment
Emotion and quality are the principal qualities of this fantastic film. Almost every action that made Super Bowl the first one-day sport event in the world is included and can be watched from different angles. Every actors from players to coaches and journalists give their point of view for each unforgettable action. Rare moments of emotion can be shared with them...

3.0 out of 5 stars Should Have Been Greater
When I bought this DVD, I was hoping for something to tide me over until football season starts up again, since football is the only sport I follow faithfully. Like other reviewers, I was most disappointed to see that the disc runs only one hour, which is insufficient time to talk about the first 5 Super Bowls, much less 34. Still, all aspects of the game are covered: Dominant Defenses, the Runners, the Defenders, the Quarterbacks, etc., but to cover any aspect of each of the 34 games in an hour-long format means that the highlights are going to zip by quickly, and they do. Many great features are included: interviews with players and coaches (some of which seem to be fairly recent), different camera angles, and game/player stats. The frustrating part of the disc is that it's over too quickly and really only serves as a teaser for what it doesn't show: the games themselves. How great it would be for the NFL to release each complete game on DVD including interviews, pre-game, post-game, half-time. THAT would be worth something! Until then...it's a long time until Opening Day...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing considering how much space the DVD gave them., March 25, 2001
My review in on par with most of the ones written below. If you're an avid NFL fan like me, DVDs like this will attract your eye, but wait for the documentary on HBO or another channel.

The documentary has a few extras included such as extended interviews, different audio segments of the same play, etc.. but there was so MUCH MORE that NFL Films could have included on a DVD capable of holding this much memory. I viewed the extras that are watchable with a computer DVD player... Nothing impressive, a collection of stats that you could get on any internet site...

Not worth it until the price drops... If you're an NFL fan, you'll enjoy what you watch, but it's over quick!

2.0 out of 5 stars Nice but insufficient in quantity, December 12, 2000

It is a decent DVD, but I would recommend renting it instead of buying ... the chapters are broken down by defenses, runners, coachs, returns, etc. ... but in my estimation, a lot was left out - the DVD runs way short, and many Super Bowl moments are not even there - the additional camera angles and audio makes for a nice bonus, but I would gladly trade that all for some more footage - as it is, by the time you find the alternate camera angle button on the remote, the short scene where it is enabled is over ...

The Steelers won 4 super bowls, yet the film on them is limited to a few quick speak-overs and just a couple of plays ... considering that this was produced for a DVD medium, I would have expected 3 hours of programming, instead of the hour (or less than a hour) ... very disappointed ...

One final thing - I guess NFL Films only does the 4x3 TV films, but it would be nice to see NFL action on a 16x9 widesceen format - I suppose it will take many more to purchase widescreen TVs to develop a market for this - but even when I had a standard 4x3 TV, I would view all my DVDs in a widescreen format ...

3.0 out of 5 stars Jam packed with exciting DVD features, but short, January 29, 2001
This DVD is a great one if you are hoping to see what differences there are between DVDs and VHS tapes. It has several cool features, including listening to commentary on certain plays by broadcasters for both teams. The DVD highlights one scene from each Super Bpwl up to and including Super Bowl No. 34, so it does fall short of packing in more of the truly "greatest" moments of the game. It is a fun DVD for features and the interviews & trivia are great, but don't expect too much in terms of length and materials.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, July 18, 2003
I am quite possibly the biggest football fan on Earth (though I'm sure most of you will argue that point). My library of NFL films spans darn near all of them. I received this DVD as a present, watched it once and have never even had the urge to pick it up again. It's not very exciting, it's not compelling and it's basically little more than a droning documentary. It gets two stars just because it's football.

Its a good DVD, but way too short considering the amount of space that can fit on a DVD. Should have had more material

The DVD is a nice collection of some of the greatest Superbowl games, however it was too short. All in all it was worth the price. I do recommend a buy for any football fan.
