This is the only singer I've ever heard who sings this song like it is supposed to be. He is one of the best! I've been searching for this song by him for many years.

A tasteful compilation,

This review is from: Greatest Pop Ballads/ Various (Audio CD)
A tasteful compilation that has something for every listener and is capable of introducing you to new favorites. There are so many gifted artists embracing a wealth of musical styles. Roger Daltrey of "The Who" powers through "Giving It All Away", a song which Leo Sayer (also included) covered. From the storming "City to City" album Gerry Rafferty presents us with the rich tones of "Right Down The Line" and when "When A Blind Man Cries", old though it may be, is rendered by Deep Purple it almost reduces the listener to tears. Other stand-out artists include: John Miles, Barclay James Harvest, Kate Bush, Nazareth, Smokie and Bonnie Tyler. These are British artists that are not always that well known in the USA and this compilation makes a fine introduction to them. A great buy.
