Remixes of Kylie's songs from 1988-1992, with a few bonuses.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Greatest Remix Hits - Volume 1 (Audio CD)
This two-CD volume is just as its title implies: the greatest remixes of Kylie Minogue, spanning from 1988-1992, the earliest days of her fascinating career. This isn't a good place for newcomers to be introduced to Kylie; they should get started with her regular albums instead, such as RYTHYM OF LOVE. Also, fans who already own KYLIE'S REMIXES (the 1993 version) should be aware that many of the tracks on this newer compilation are duplicated on the older collection. There's still plenty of good material here, however. Besides the "standard" remixes of "I Should Be So Lucky," "The Loco-Motion," "Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi," and "Step Back In Time," there are also shorter, "album" versions of "Made In Heaven" and "Closer," songs that Kylie's U.S. fans have seldom got a chance to hear. Other treats for her American fans include "All I Wanna Do," "Just Wanna Love You," and "We Know The Meaning Of Love," songs that were on promotional CDs not made available before in the United States. If you don't have any of Kylie's other remix CDs, by all means run out and pick up this one. If you do have the earlier GREATEST HITS, expect a bit of overkill with GREATEST REMIX HITS, but there's still enough new material here to make it worth the investment. Check it out.

For all kylie fans, get this album as well as the other remixed albums. my favorite tracks include the mixes of Keep On Pumpin It Up (this mix should be titled I Guess I Like It Like That), Finer Feelings (the classic Brothers In Rhythm mix), Do You Dare, I Should Be So Lucky, and the list goes on. The album also included Made In Heaven (nice song), We Know The Meaning Of Love (one of my favorites), Word Is Out, etc. just a pretty damn good cd.

A great buy if you like Kylie's earlier hits!!,

This is Kylie's first volume of the highly popular Greatest Remix Hits series. They are definately all worth buying, especially if you are a fan of Kylie and her earlier hits, like me. The remixes span a four-year period of her most popular hits from her Stock, Aitken, Waterman career, now down to a duo with the exit of Aitken. This CD is also a treat, as it is very rare these days.
You can enjoy remixes of earlier hits such as I Should Be So Lucky, Got To Be Certain, The Loco-motion, Hand On Your Heart, Word Is Out, Shocked, Step Back In Time, Celebration and many more. Not only does this include remixes of hits, it also includes extended versions of several album tracks, one that is notable is the great remix for It's No Secret, only a hit in Japan. Overall, this album is a great one, and when you put all of the tracks together, it makes a great party album! Two of the high points for me on here are the Brothers In Rhythm 7" Mix of Finer Feelings, which is the infamous, popular remixed version. This is clearly a classic from this brilliant remix album. The other is a remix of Keep On Pumpin' It Up, with Tony King and The Visionmasters, this song was originally from the album Let's Get To It (1991) with the name of I Guess I Like It Like That. This dance track is the perfect companion to Do You Dare, the other techno/dance track from this album. Another notable remix from this album is the Have A Party Remix of Celebration, which ends the album and Kylie's PWL Era nicely. So overall this album is a great one. Also pick up Volumes two, three and four, as they are also excellent and worth buying for any Kylie Minogue fan. With remixes from I Should Be So Lucky, including most of the hits right down to Celebration, this is a must-have!! Kylie Minogue: Get Well Soon.

If you are a diehard fan of Kylie's, I highly recommend picking up this four-CD series of remixes of her early hits. Some of the songs are dated, but they are so much fun, and they will be a treat for those who are fans of the Stock Aitken and Waterman productions and late 80s/early 90s hi-nrg club hits. The series is a bit high in price, but if you like Kylie, these CDs are worth it.

The dance floor goes "OFF" with Kylie's remixes,
This review is from: Greatest Remix Hits - Volume 1 (Audio CD)
Back in the early 90's Kylie's hits dominated many Dance clubs around Australia - with such remix hits as "Step Back in Time", "What do i have to do", "Shocked", "Do you dare?" and "Keep on Pumpin it up" All can be found on Disk 2. Although Disk 1 is a bit average, Disk 2 more than makes up for it. It brings back great memories of wild nights at "BaseLine" nightclub in Melbourne. So STEP BACK IN TIME and grab this CD, A must for any "real" Kylie Fan.

Kylie - Remixed, Extended, and Ready To Party,
By k. lane "jester1436" (Florida, USA) - See all my reviews

An Australian exclusive release, Greatest Remix Hits Volume 1 is the first of several collections of Ms. Kylie Minogue's PWL period remixes. Dubs, extended versions, and b-sides are also included, making the series handy for fans who want the old tunes on CD or new fans wanting to party to some classic Kylie stuff. Not really the perfect collection, it does have it's dodgy places, especially the horrible remix of her cover of the song "Celebration". Despite this complaint, some really solid songs are found within, highlights including "Never Too Late (Extended)", "We Know The Meaning Of Love", "Step Back In Time (Walkin' Rhythm Mix)", "What Do I Have To Do (Remix)", "Word Is Out", and "Finer Feelings (Brothers In Rhythm 7" Mix)". Great for both Kylie and remix fans, though maybe less interesting for just a casual fan. Not bad.

Having recently rediscovered my love for dance remixes, Kylie's Greatest Vol. 1 totally blew me away. A fan of her two late 80's albums, this two-disc collection is a definite treat. Every thumping remix just makes you want to get up and dance. Stand out mixes: "Got To Be Certain", "Step Back In Time", "Shocked" and the excellent "What Kind Of Fool". The compilation also features rarely heard gems like "Made In Heaven" (the original non-album B-side of "It's No Secret"). If you love Kylie and dance mixes, I highly recommend this set!
