The author's real name was Walter Breen, numismatic husband of Marion Zimmer Bradley. The research for the book was mostly done by Warren Johansson. There is unfortunately a hypocritical gap between what Breen preached and what he practiced. He thus died in prison. He is mistaken in thinking that Gide was not a pederast.
