5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Effective Method of Learning Ancient Greek, November 27, 2010

This review is from: Greek-A Programmed Primer (Spiral-bound)
This three volume work teaches ancient Greek, from Homer through the New Testament. It uses programmed instruction, which has students advance through a lesson at their own pace. It promotes mastery of the material; the student only progresses when he or she has has correctly answered the earlier material. It is similar in method to the Pimsleur audio series for modern languages. See the article on Programmed Instruction in Wikipedia for more information.

With this course I learned ancient Greek entirely on my own, and retain the material well 20 years later despite long lapses in reading. I would love to find a similar course in Hebrew or other classical languages, and wouldn't consider studying a language any other way if one were available.
