Another Great Read from Annie West,
By romancelover (Sydney, Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm a huge fan of Annie West's writing. She writes strong, passionate stories featuring compelling characters and high stakes emotion. The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife is no exception! The book opens so dramatically with Tessa, Stavros's long-lost wife, turning up at his engagement party to another woman. But he has good reason not to trust her, no matter how much he wants her. The sexual tension sizzles hotter than flame until the blissfully happy ending. Highly recommended!

Simply beautiful love story,
By Marilyn Shoemaker (Seattle, Washington) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Mass Market Paperback)
Annie West yet again delivers a passionate love story full of intrigue in the name of Tessa Marlowe. Tessa appears on the eve of Stavros Denakis engagement party and sets in motion a chain of events you won't want to miss. Unexpected wife doesn't even describe it!
Stavros Denakis is the Greek alpha like no other who holds himself back when it comes to commitment and love. His father's past history with women have left him scared and resentful so when Tessa appears on his door step, he is not only furious but thinks she has an agenda. Tessa swears she is only here to return the "family" heirloom ring with the family crest. Is this really Tessa? The Tessa he married a few years ago and then he witnessed her accident and death? If this is his wife, then why after all of these years has she appeared on the eve of his engagement to another woman? Why now and where has she been? He is angry, intrigued and she still can make him crazy, peak his interest and cause him to feel desire in ways no other woman has ever touched him. Stavros and Tessa's journey is one incredible ride, full of passion, it's a tug of war, roller coaster ride all rolled into one. Stavros self discovery in the end, will move the reader, especially when he realizes he cares deeply for Tessa. Well it's something you won't want to miss! Congratulations to Annie West on this moving and emotional love story.

A book you simply can't put down!,

This review is from: The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Kindle Edition)
I'm a romantic fiction junkie but have been getting tired of the soppy heroines and sexist cardboard Hero's, enter Annie West! This is the first of her books I've read but it was so good I read the whole thing in one go a feat I hasn't managed since having my daughter. This book was simply arresting and I could not put in down and go to sleep.
If you're a fan of Harlequin presents but are getting tired of L Graham and M Reid phoning it in this is the book and writer for you! I don't want to give any of the story away but it's the 3 dimentional writing that sucks you into this book! Tessa and Stavros were married under peculiar circumstance and have been apart for years so when Tessa appears back in Stavros' life at the worst possible moment he's suspicious to say the least but the chemistry between these two is undeniable and sparks fly. Luckly the story doesn't rely on impossible misunderstanding or the on the heroine being to stupid to explain herself.

Run a mile,

This review is from: The Greek Tycoon's Unexpected Wife (Harlequin Presents Extra) (Kindle Edition)
I've read a lot of romantic fiction and some of it down right mediocre but I dislike this book so much I was provoked to write my first review.
The male lead, Stavros Denakis is untrusting and abusive for the first half of the book and the heroine, Tessa Marlow, just trembles and whimpers. I wanted her to run a mile or do a better job of standing up for herself. In the end I was unconvinced that they would ride off into the sunset. It felt more like he would continue to have issues of trust, perhaps be abusive and manipulative and she would continue to tremble and whimper. On the whole it was a deeply dissatisfying read.

This book is the Harlequin Presents of the past, a really good read. I love how Annie West writes and this does not disappoint. The Hero and Heroine are perfect for each other. Tessa is strong, not whiny or annoying. Read this book, you won't be disappointed.
