Book Description

December 1, 2008

For Miranda Kalli, the invitation to join an archeological dig on a Greek island seems like a gift from the gods. But nothing has prepared her for the exotic world she is entering—sinister strangers, mysterious accidents, brushes with death, or even the promise of love from a dangerously attractive man who offers her his help and protection. And Miranda can use all the help and protection he offers, for she has unwittingly been drawn into a vortex of corruption, deceptions, international conspiracies—and murder. The more she discovers, the more likely she is to get killed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Greek Winds of Fury, December 5, 2008
This review is from: Greek Winds of Fury (Paperback)
I've been a Judith Gould fan from way back when. Loved SINS, NEVER TOO RICH, TOO DAMN RICH and FOREVER. Then it seemed Ms. Gould was in a kind of decline, with shorter books and plots. What I loved about GREEK WINDS OF FURY is the double prologue - only wish it took place even more in ancient times than the present, but still...the old Judith Gould whom I loved and grew up with seems to have reemerged. I adored the sprawl of the book and the exotic locations. The only thing I missed from the old Goulds that I loved was that there is so little sex in this book! But it reminds me of Mary Stewart in her heyday - only placed in modern-day Greece. Bravo, Ms. Gould.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please Ms. Gould...We Want MORE!!!, September 27, 2011
This review is from: Greek Winds of Fury (Paperback)
My, oh my. Ms. Gould has outdone herself (in my opinion) and created one of the scariest protagonists alive - Chara Zouboulakis. It's obvious Ms. Gould travels to do her research, knows her art and how the art world works (TOO DAMN RICH) and has encountered characters galore in her travels. Who else would wind up with those charming nurses? Yes, there could have been more romance (read sex), but overall, I was smitten with this book. It's obvious she cultivated archeologists, knows all about the Nazi era in Greece and the looting that went on, and get this - even knows her music (as she did in FOREVER! I want more Goulds out there. And the longer they are, the more they entice. I found GREEK WINDS OF FURY fascinating - being half-Greek myself, she truly captured the Greek spirit. In this novel, the spirit of Mary Stewart's early books live on. Please, Ms. Gould - MORE!

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, August 3, 2010
This review is from: Greek Winds of Fury (Paperback)
This book was a disappointing because it jumped around to much. It starts with the history of Greek sculptures, then jumps to modern times. There are several characters but none of their story lines seem complete, several things are left hanging. The book is totted as a novel of romantic suspense, although there is very little romance at all. This is the first book I have made myself finish. It just never got better.
