1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't promote the true message of the Bible
The notes in this Bible take the focus off of the whole purpose of the Bible and shift it to a non-christian, non-judeo world view. It promotes nature worship instead of the true and original intention of the Bible, God worship. This Bible claims that, "creation care is at the very core of our Christian walk" (intro. 1-20). God does teach us in the Bible to take care of...

1.0 out of 5 stars doesn't promote the true message of the Bible, April 20, 2010
This review is from: The Green Bible (Paperback)
The notes in this Bible take the focus off of the whole purpose of the Bible and shift it to a non-christian, non-judeo world view. It promotes nature worship instead of the true and original intention of the Bible, God worship. This Bible claims that, "creation care is at the very core of our Christian walk" (intro. 1-20). God does teach us in the Bible to take care of the earth, but he doesn't tell us to make it our priority or to worship creation by putting it above all else. Our priority according to the Bible should be "The LORD our God, the LORD is one! You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart," Deuteronomy 6:4-6. This Bible, in the intro, claims that the biggest problem in the world is that the world [physical earth]is dying. The Bible itself clearly states that the biggest problem in the world is that souls are perishing because of SIN. (John 3:16, Romans 3:23, 6:23) God is going to make a new heavens and new earth one day (Isaiah 65:17, Isaiah 66:22, 2 Peter 3:13), so even though we DO NEED TO take care of our earth, it is not eternal in its current state. Our SOULS however are ETERNAL and we have to make the choice whether our souls will live eternally in heaven or lie in hell forever. That is a much bigger problem than saving a physical earth that will someday be recreated in perfection. Romans 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." The eternal death of the souls of all of earth's inhabitants is a much bigger issue than the death of a planet which will be reborn. In Luke 12:33-35 and Matthew 6:20-22 Jesus talks about focusing on eternal things, not earthly things that will one day fade away. Let's keep our priorities straight and really save the world by helping people see their need to save their souls, through faith in Jesus Christ as the one and only God and Savior!

Isaiah 65:17 says, "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind."
