Product Description
Grown in the lush mountains near the Caranavi region of Bolivia, this coffee is quickly becoming a new favorite. Perhaps it has something to do with the passion for excellence that these small scale growers have when it comes to growing coffee. Fair Trade pricing continues to give the farmers the best possible incentive to produce outstanding quality: the means to lift themselves out of poverty through their own hard work. Bolivia is a country of very small farmers who have been left out of the gourmet coffee market until just a few years ago. The Montanas Verde is sweet and light to medium bodied coffee with clear chocolate and nutty flavors with hints of spice and caramel. Aromas of apricot and plum give the cup a delightful finish, as long as this coffee is not roasted too dark. Roasting past full city might cook away some of the more subtle flavors and aromas. We recommend a medium to full city roast. All of the green coffee we sell was purchased in small lots of only the best quality arabica beans. This green coffee must be roasted before it can be made into a coffee beverage. We recommend roasting with a home coffee roasting appliance such as the FreshRoast Plus, also available from Seven Bridges Cooperative.
