How Can You Love Green Day and not Own this DVD?!?!,
By Michael Crane (Orland Park, IL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Green Day - International Supervideos! (DVD)
I'm going to make this review short and sweet, because there's not too much to go over. If you love Green Day and you love the music videos, then this is a MUST-HAVE! All of your favorite Green Day videos put together on one DVD. Chances are, you're not going to see most of these on TRL, or MTV for that matter, any time soon. Wouldn't want to take away that great air time for N'Sync, oh no! (I hope you sense the sarcasam level in that last sentence.)All of the videos are great, but I still think "basket case," is the best one. The one for "geek stink breath" is sooooo painful to watch. OUCH!!! Here's the song list: longview * basket case * when I come around * geek stink breath * stuck with me * brain stew/jaded * walking contradiction * hitchin' a ride * good riddance (time of your life) * redundant * nice guys finish last * last ride in * minority * warning * waiting Yes, the songs have the swears blanked out for the most part, but I think that's because of how they were shot and filmed, since they knew they would have to be on TV at some point. So, do expect that. Other than that, this DVD is pretty much flawless. There's really no special features, but if you have the videos, that's all you really need. This is an awesome DVD, and Green Day still rules! I don't care what anyone says. "International Supervideos!" is a must-have for all Green Day fans. Check it out now!

Great Video Collection Containing ALL Videos,
By A Customer
This review is from: Green Day - International Supervideos! (DVD)
This excellent disc contains every single Green Day video ever made to the date of its release. PERIOD. True, they just released a video for Macy's Day Parade, but this disc came out before that video did. Also, there is an "online" promo video for Poprocks & Coke that will most likely never be on television, but is available on the Reprise Records Green Day site. But that too was released after this disc was released. There were no videos done from their Lookout! Records days, nor was there one done for Welcome to Paradise. This disc contains the wildly popular videos (Basketcase, When I Come Around, Time of Your Life, Warning, etc), as well as some obscure ones. "Stuck With Me" from Insomniac was only released in Europe, and I never saw that video until I got this DVD. Its a GREAT video that best represents their album Insomniac. Also included is the video for the surf tune "Last Ride In" from Nimrod that was shot mostly by the band members themselves. Not the greatest video, but interesting nonetheless. "Geek Stink Breath" off of Insomniac was actually banned by MTV for being too graphic (for the teeth-yanking footage), they only showed it for about 3 weeks back in '95 and then it fell from the face of the Earth. The gem on the DVD is "Nice Guys Finish Last", which is Green Day at its best, witty and rocking. Its a take off on old NFL films, and its by far my favorite video in the collection. As for quality, the first couple videos (off of Dookie and Insomniac) are kind of grainy and blurry. The last 3 off of Warning are crystal clear. Fortunately, the sound quality is top notch throughout.

The Best Of Green Day's Videos!,
This review is from: Green Day - International Supervideos! (DVD)
This is a DVD of Green Day's greatest videos, dating back to 1994. (American Idiot videos not included, though.) It's got 15 music videos- well, 16 techincally, but Brain Stew/Jaded is counted as one.
Here's a list of all of the videos, with a description and a few tidbits as well: 1. Longview: First Green Day video ever made, it was filmed in the house where the guys were residing at the time. Great song, great video. It's as simple as that. I like the part at the end where Billie Joe completely loses it and stabs the couch...tee hee. There are feathers flying everywhere and everything. 2. Basket Case: Another one of Green Day's best songs, this video takes place in a mental hospital. I like it for the most part, except for the people with the masks...those are a bit creepy. The video was shot in black and white at first, and color was added afterword, which probably explains why the colors seem to be a little...out of sorts. 3. When I Come Around: One of their most well-known songs. The video is about people following people around. The only thing I don't like about it is the sweater that Billie is wearing...not a good color. 4. Geek Stink Breath: A great song, but I've never watched the entire video because I'm sort of afraid to...they pull someone's tooth out. I normally wouldn't mind something like that, but I got a few teeth pulled out recently, and it looks pretty painful. 5. Stuck With Me: Pretty good video; most of it is in black and white, and the rest is animations from the Insomniac cover. It sort of looks like Terry Gilliam animated it...maybe he did... 6. Brain Stew/Jaded: The two videos may be paired together, but they're pretty different. Brain Stew is in brown-and-white, and Billie Joe is really the only one doing anything in the video; Mike and Tre are just sitting on a couch, looking bored. After Brain Stew ends, it transitions into Jaded, which is basically just weird camera angles. Billie Joe got high right before he did the video so that he could relate to the song. 7. Walking Contradiction: My favorite Green Day video ever. The basic theme of the video is different from the song; basically, the guys (not just Billie Joe for once; Tre and Mike, too) walk past something and something bad happens and they don't even realize it, sort of like they're jinxed. It cost $150,000 to make, which, at the time, was a lot of money for them, especially since they weren't as well-known back in 1995. There's a part where Billie Joe walks through moving traffic while reading a newspaper. It's hilarious. He almost didn't do it at first, but Tre scared him into it. Just a little fun fact. 8. Hitchin' A Ride: Onto the Nimrod stuff! (In case you didn't guess already, the videos are in chronological order.) It takes place in a theater, and the set looks like it came right out of Guys and Dolls. The guys are all dressed up in suits and ties and polished shoes, then everything falls apart in the end. 9. Good Riddance: The video for Green Day's best-known song. It's a little repetative, and it's mostly just Billie Joe playing guitar and singing in this old, beat-up house, then there are some stills of people deep in thought. There's a shot of Mike Dirnt, though, just standing there, and towards the end there's a shot of Tre sitting against a building with blood dripping from his head (not in a disgusting way, though) and looking up at the paramedics. Probably the only time I've seen Tre Cool with a serious look on his face. 10. Redundant: I like the concept of this video; there are a bunch of people in the background doing the same thing over and over. Good song, too. 11. Nice Guys Finish Last: This is probably my second-favorite video, next to Walking Contradiction. It takes place on a football field, and Green Day's got their own cheerleaders and everything. There's even some dialouge at the beginning, and at the end Mike, Tre, and Billie Joe run into the locker room and completely trash it, and my favorite part: Billie Joe shouts "There is no 'I' in band." Ah, classic Green Day. 12. Last Ride In: This instrumental song isn't on International Superhits, but they put it on the DVD anyway. It's mostly just shots of them in concert, and there's a guy skateboarding. 13. Minority: The first video off of Warning:. It takes place on a parade float, and Green Day has balloons of themselves (which they should use in the Macy's Day Parade this year- that would be awesome). At the end they trash the float (they sure like to destroy stuff in their videos, don't they?) and Billie Joe runs around with a cape on and bumps into one of the hands doing the peace sign- if you look closely, when he bumps into it one of the fingers fly off and the hand is giving the middle finger. 14. Warning: The video doesn't really feature the band itself; it's more about a guy going through his day and breaking all of the rules (don't take candy from strangers, no running at pools, keep out of reach of children, etc.) It's pretty funny, I like it. Green Day is playing in his kitchen, though, and they're featured for part of it. 15. Waiting: My least favorite video on the DVD; it's a bit poppy and MTV-esque. It's basically just about waiting for something, and Billie Joe looks sort of old in it. It just doesn't seem very original to me. Normally, I'd give the DVD 4 stars, but one thing I was impressed with was the menu. In order to choose a video to watch, you select a CD, and there's a list of them on each- sort of like sub-menus. Each of the sub-menus have their own little intro, too; the Dookie one has artwork from the CD cover, (mostly the dog flying the plane) and "Welcome To Paradise" plays in the background. The Insomniac menu has a "Brain Stew" intro, and flashes of artwork from the cover pop up every few seconds. I like the Nimrod menu the best; it starts off with the "Platypus (I Hate You)" guitar part, and there are all these ripped yearbook photes with faces scribbled out, etc. Then it goes into the actual menu, with pictures of Billie Joe, Mike, and Tre that have the yellow circle that says "Nimrod" on them. (They play Hitchin' A Ride for the Nimrod menu, though...if they had played the parts of Platypus that actually had lyrics, I think they'd get sued.) The Warning menu is basically just the black and white photos from Warning, and "Minority" plays in the background. The main menu is great, too. It starts off with silouhettes (I probably spelled that wrong, but oh well, I don't feel like getting out a dictionary at the moment) of the guys walking in, and then the "International Supervideos" words pop up, and it goes into the main menu, where "Geek Stink Breath" is playing, and there are moving silhouettes of Billie, Mike, and Tre on the side with their instruments. There are even a few "special features" if you'll call them that...there's a web link, a description of the "International Superhits" CD (which was new at the time), and a subtitles option. The only thing I didn't like about this DVD was that it was edited. Not every single profanity, of course, but the F-word was replaced with a zipping sound (you could still tell it was the F-word, though, and the subtitles weren't edited, which kind of defeats the purpose), and the S-word was completely blanked out, except for in the Longview chorus, which would be kind of impossible. It's probably just because the videos were made for TV and they couldn't play that stuff on Vh1 or MTV, but still...they don't edit out the swears on International Superhits, so why edit the DVD? Overall, a great buy for any Green Day fan. Well worth the money. p.s.: don't buy any of the "Pogo Paradise" or "Suburbia Bomb" DVD's. Huge waste of money. Trust me, I learned the hard way.

A great companion to the CD.,
This review is from: Green Day - International Supervideos! (DVD)
If you have the CD, but aren't sure whether or not to buy the DVD, GET IT! The videos (only 15 of them) are as every bit as entertaining as the songs representing them. Here you hear (and see) Billie Joe, Mike Dirnt, and Tre' Cool at their funniest and finest. Standouts: "Basket Case", "Brain Stew", "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)", "Nice Guys Finish Last", and "Warning". Again, BUY IT! Nuff said!

I love Green day, and I got this DVD for Christmas. Now, I had never seen their videos before except for American idiot and Broken dreams, and they're not very funny. So i didn't think they were going to be very humorous...Oh, was I wrong. These videos are hysterical. This DVD contains:
1. Longview - Great song with a hysterical video. The setting is the exact same thing as the lyrics. My favorite part is when the monkey steals his keys. 5/5 2. Basket Case - In this classic video, the guys in the band are in a mental hospital. I'm not a huge fan of the video but I love the song. 4/5 3. When I come Around - Like Basketcase, love the song, not a very big fan of the video. The video is interesting, but it's not very funny. 4/5 4. Geek Stink Breath - UGGGHHH!!! I hate this video. I love this song, but the video is so gruesome!! It shows the guys performing, and every 5 seconds, it shows a close-up of some dude getting his teeth pulled out. Bloody, Gory and Disturbing. 1/5 5. Brain Stew - I dont like this one. Like the song, the video is kinda boring 1/5 6. Jaded - Although I like this one. It's fun to listen to coz you cant hear what he's saying. The video is the obvious punk video 4/5 7. Stuck with me - This song is good, but the video is boring. 2/5 8. Walking Contradition - This is my favorite one. It's really funny. All three of the guys are walking in the city, and causing problems. My favorite part is when Billie Joe throws a stick at that guy riding a bike. 5/5 9. Hitchin' A Ride - This one's funny. It's a take-off on a Stray Cats video. I love Billie Joe's facial expressions and at the end the way he covers his face when he's saying the last words of the song. 5/5 10. Good Riddance(Time Of Your Life) - Beautiful, Beautiful song. The video is perfect for the lyrics. 5/5 11. Redundant - This video reminds me of Yellowcard's "ocean avenue" because it's like Deja vu. (If you watch every person doing everyday things, you'll notice that they do the same thing throughout the whole song) This is a good song but this video is kind of boring. 3/5 12. Nice Guys Finish Last - Very funny. It's supposed to be like a football game or something. I love the way the fans are dressed. I also like the end when one of the guys says says, "THERE IS NO I IN BAND!!!" 13. Last Ride In - I really like this song, but the video is kind of boring. 2/5 14. Minority - This video is soooo funny!! They're performing on a float. I love Billie's facial expressions. And I like the hat that Tre is wearing at the end. But my favorite part is when They start destroying the float at the end, and Billie uses a decoration as a cape and he's pretending to fly around like a superhero untill Mike shoots him. One of the most entertaining ones. 5/5 15. Warning - This one is fun to watch. The guy in the video is doing really dangerous things even though nothing is happening. I actually think that guy is hot. 5/5 16. Waiting - This is a great song, but I really dont like the whole setting of the video...3/5 So, there are some songs on the CD that should have been made into videos, like Macys day parade, maria and poprocks and coke, but still...this dvd is very funny, and weather you like green day or not, every person with a good sense of humour should have it. >>>Audrey<<<

Ever since the Berkeley, CA alternative threesome released their huge breakthrough (and classic) album Dookie in February of 1994, they have gone on to release 16 music videos from four albums. And now, on one very affordable DVD collection, you can have all of them to play whenever you want. "Basket Case" at 3:15 AM? Sure. "Hitchin' A Ride" at 7:45 PM? Yup. "Minority" at...well, you get the idea, any video/time combination you can come up with, it's in your power! Also worth noting is every time you select an album from which hits' videos you want to watch, they have a little interlude to match the album's theme. For instance, if you select "Dookie", you will be treated to a cartoon dog flying through the air dropping Dookie bombs before the actual video selection comes up. Neato, huh? All of the videos are great and worth watching at least once. These boys not only make great music, they make great videos as well. All in all, if you like Green Day, then you need this DVD (if you don't have it already). It goes great with your "International Superhits" CD.

It is the Best,

This to me ranks highly as some of the greatest Video compilations of all time. Of course the Beastie Boys Anthology holds the tops spot but to me this come close. Green Day has always had a flare making creating, funny, and many times odd music videos, which has also in a way paved a way for other bands to make funny/creating, and good music videos. But this one has it all. Every single released from their last 4 studio albums is here including all the new ones. This is not just some small thing like the Blink 182: The Urethra Chronicles, which is good if I may add but that only had 4 songs on it. This has over 10 videos on it... possibly 15, I forget really, since I just keep in on loop over and over again. IF you are a fan of Green Day, Get this, If you are not forget it, it will probably bore you to death or annoy the hell out of you. I for one am a big fan, and am happy about this purchase.

A collection of Green Day's videos. What more could you want? Not much else. Well alright, all of Green Day's albums and World Peace. But this is still very very very satisfying. Some of the greatest videos of all time have been made by Green Day. My personal favorite video is Basketcase. I saw the video for this and a short while later my friend lent me his copy of Dookie. Life changing experience? Yes. All of the videos here are fun and well crafted. And most are very colorful!!! It doesn't take much to make me happy. Put on Basketcase on a 24 hour loop and I'll be a good little patient. hehe

I got this dvd @ walmart last week ($10 there..just a heads up). all the videos are well done. some of them are hilarious - billie's facial expressions are priceless. redundant is my favorite video - i didnt like the song at all until I saw the video and now I love it. kind of creepy how the lead singer never looks away except for maybe 3 times during the song - but the activity in the background is great if you can take your eyes off of the lead singer. hitchin a ride is another awesome video :) if you dont have this yet.. go buy it - pretty cheap for 15 videos. i bought a dvd with 3 music videos on it for $10 once.. so money is no excuse :)
