the brake dust shield works well. i haven't seen LESS brake dust so far, but when i wash the wheels the dust comes off A LOT easier than before. very little to no scrubbing, it just wipes right off. i think i read some place there's some sort of magnetic charge or bond that's formed that keeps the brake dust from attaching too deeply/firmly to the wheel, hence the easy wipe off. my guess is my wheels will look nice longer over time if i keep using this stuff. doesn't hurt that it's eco friendly, non-toxic, etc....

I cleaned my wheels, applied liberally and "walked away". The brake dust did get back on the wheels. While it wiped off easily, it couln't be simply rinsed off with a hose. I'll look for something else.

Applied the product after using the wheel cleaner (which worked about as well as any other wheel cleaner I've used - still had a couple spots of black). It's been two weeks and there's a noticable difference in the amount of brake dust left on my front wheels - the back wheels are normally clean as the front brakes do most of the work. While there IS brake dust on my wheels, it's more uniform, so the wheels do not look as dirty. There aren't large dark patches toward the gaps in my wheel, which always occured in the past.

I wiped an area of the wheel, and the brake dust came right off without any hard rubbing. Don't expect a miracle, but if you're really concerned about how clean your wheels look, this "wheel" (will) help. For your average Joe Schmo though, I'm not sure I'd spend money on any wheel cleaner, I'd just wash them with my car.

Nice to know this doesn't harm the environment though.

I don't think the manufacturer states that there will be less brake dust on one's wheels if this product is used as a couple of reviewers have implied. What it's suppose to do is prevent the dust from hardening onto the surface of the wheel and becoming permenantly embedded in the finish. This it does very well! If fact brake dust or any other road grime that gets flung up onto the wheel washes right off. I did say wash. A good portion of it will rinse away but some areas need a little effort with a soapy sponge. Now, I do not need any special wheel cleaning product like I had in the past. Everything comes clean during a normal car washing. Super product! I will buy this again on Amazon.

I tried an entire bottle of this product and did not notice any reduction in the brake dust on my chrome rims or in their ease of cleaning.

There are better wheel protectors out there. Armour All works great but very expensive, Eagle one leaves a white film but works better than Green earths offering. Belive me I know because I have two BMW's and they are the worst producers of brake dust bar none. I finally went with clean wheels for one of my cars. The clean wheels work great but take away from the looks of the car.
I don't recomend that you buythe Green earth Dust sheild. Basically all it did was make the wheels easier to clean. I agree with another poster that the brake dust doesnt wash off with a hose

I have been looking for a product to replace the Michelin Dust Repellant Protectant that was on the market a couple years ago. I drive a 350Z where an abundant amount of brake dust is displaced to the front wheels. Usually after 3-4 days the entire vehicle is still sparkling clean but the front wheels are noticebly darker due to the brake dust, but with this product you spray onto the wheels after youve washed the car and dry.

Nice even liberal spray on the wheels and let the product naturally dry and the wheels are left with a nice slippery wax and it does not attract the brake dust. What this does it allows you in a couple days once brake dust has accumulated is to take a rag and wipe the brake dust off and looks almost as you'd just clean the wheels. Another benefit is when it comes time to wash the car just hose off the dust off the wheels, no scrubbing, no wheel cleaner needed. Maybe just soap and wash mit to take off stubborn dust.

Good product that says what it does and is very inexpensive. The old Michelin Dust Repellant used to sell on the market for almost $10.00 and the Green Earth Brake Dust Shield does the job just as good for less price.
