This product cleans little better than just using normal soap and water, maybe it's good for the environment but in truth it's not the greatest for cleaning tires. Maybe it's just me but the I wanted more cleaning than what I got.

Saw this product being highlighted on TV. However, it actually was less effective when compared with the Armor All Wheel Cleaner when I tried it on my front wheels. On the rear wheels, I used Simple Green to compare, and this product worked less effectively.
All three products required subsequent scrubbing and brushing to completely remove the dust accumulation. So, I would stick to using Simple Green mostly as it is biodegradable and more environmental friendly than regular car cleaning products, and I would not bother buying Green Earth's wheel cleaner again simply for its green claim.

This cleaned off the brake dust about as well as any other wheel cleaner I've used. Nice to know it's good for the environment - unlike my brake dust.

Let me just start by saying that I'm not a big fan of washing my car's wheels. The few times I've washed my car, I just hit the wheels with the same sudsy sponge as the rest of the car. Then as I saw some of these products in a local shop and decided to give my car a proper washing, and this Green Earth Technologies stuff sounded perfect for my eco-conscious.
Previous wheel cleaning experience: I once tried to wash my wheels properly years ago - probably about 50,000 miles ago. A friend of mine had some fancy wheels stuff (can't remember what) and it removed the loose dust great, but there was spots of really touch (baked on or oily?) brake dust that woudn't come off no matter what. We tried and tried, and then used a degreaser, etc. No dice. Using this stuff: Thus, it was with much apprehension that I approached my now, much filthier, wheels. I followed the directions, squirted the wheel, waited 30 seconds and then attacked with paper towels. Just as before all the light dust came off, but then to my amazement, so did those tough spots. They didn't exactly dissolve right away, but with a second squirt of this Green Earth Technology wheel cleaner and a firm rubbing, the bad spots disappeared. I was shocked. Sure I had to rub it firmly, but I couldn't make any headway into it years ago - and now it should be way worse! This stuff worked so well that my wheels with 75,000 miles looked like new. I was so pleased I went and cleaned the wheels on my parent's car since it was so easy! While admiring the 8 shiny new alloys glistening in the sun, I did something I've never done before: I went back to the car shop, and got the Green Earth Technologies Tire Cleaner/Polish. As I said, I've never been much of a wheel cleaner, and I always thought that people who polish their tires are well out of touch with reality. But when I saw the perfect wheels, just like new, I wanted the full effect. A few squirts later, the package was complete: dead sexy wet-looking rubber on the tires and perfect shimmering wheels. (Admittedly dorky, but it looked great.) I can't say that I'm going to become a dedicated wheel-washer now, but this stuff was so easy to use and effective, there's no reason I shouldn't wash them a little more often. Nicely done. I got a bunch of the Green Earth Technologies cleaners, and I'm well impressed - and writing reviews to boot. I might even try drinking a shot of each of them, just because I can!

Yes it requires a wipe or scrub but so do other wheel cleaners that are actually safe for your wheels. It works pretty well, does not get a lot of baked-on brake dust off as it says but did get some tough stuff off, easily removes regular build up with a simple wipe. The fact I'm not scared to get any on my hands or that I'm not scared to damage my wheels allows me to give it 4 stars.

Pros:
* Doesn't cause any breathing irritation, even when used in a garage * Doesn't etch or leave any spots on the rims on my C5 Z06 Cons: * Still requires scrubbing to remove brake dust * More expensive than competing products

Don't even both spending money on this cleaner if your brake dust is stubborn. It simply won't work. I have a set of BBS wheels with brake dust, which was the reason why I bought this cleaner. Tried it, but realized it won't remove much brake dust at all.

Green, but NOT clean,

I picked this up at my local hardware store since it was the only cleaner they had. The package said it quickly loosened brake dust, so I figured it'd be perfect for cleaning off the brake dust collecting on my wheels and compared to other wheel cleaners I've used, I was glad that it has no ill effects to humans or the environment...
Unfortunately this product does NOT work well at all! There was almost no "loosening" at all - It was about the same as just soap and water... If you really want to CLEAN your wheels, I'd reccommend the Armorall brand wheel cleaner, which will easily and effortlessly remove stuck on brake(though be sure to read the warning labels). If you want to be green, save your money and just use some gentle soap...

Nice that this stuff is good for the environment, but it really does not work very well. It does not dissolve on contact like others I've used, you need to use a brush or something. I tried a sample pack of 5 different items from this company, and, unfortunately, was not impressed with any of them.
