Presenting...Miss Sarah Connor, May 22, 2006
This review is from: Green Eyed Soul (Audio CD)
Back in 2000 the world was at the height of the pop phemonena: Christina had debuted, Britney had debuted...finally it was time for this Sarah to debut.
American's wouldnt know her tell 2004 (and even then you probably still dont know who she is) but this was the year and the CD that made her a star in her home country of Germany. Sarah is what you call 'Blue Eyed Soul'. Her voice is very similiar in strength and range to Mariah and Christina. Her songs follow the same pop'nb (pop mixed with rnb) method as many of there's as well. She would become the biggest German female artist and evolve quite a bit over the next 6 years...but for now she was pure pop with a hint of rnb.
Green Eyed Soul kicks off with one of Sarah's first singles the upbeat and catchy 'Lets get back to bed boy'. This single sets the tone of the whole album: sexy yet fun while being classy not trashy (so no chaps like Christina in her Dirty phase.)
Green Eyed Soul gets poppier with 'If U were my man' and goes deeply sensual with the 'No Diggist' sampling 'French Kissin' (also a very successful single). 'Magic Ride' and 'Make U High' take you back to the good ol pop. 'From Sarah with love' is the first ballad...it was the single that launched Sarah's fame and shows off her vocals beautifully.
'In my house', 'Where do we go from here' rnb it up while 'I cant lie', 'Every little thing', 'Undressed', 'Cant get none', and 'Man of my dreams' pop it back up. 'Let us come together' sounds like 'Lets get back to bed boy part 2' but it is a different and neat song. 'When I dream' finishes the CD in a light but beautiful way that leaves you wanting more.
Overall Green Eyed Soul is one of Sarah's best CD's (though she doesnt really have a bad CD). If your looking for a good rnb track check out 'Lets get back to bed boy' and 'French Kissin'. If your looking for a good ballad check out 'From Sarah with love'. And if your looking for some good pop check out 'If U were my man' and 'Undressed'.

If you like Whitney, Maria or Toni you like this!!, May 10, 2003
This review is from: Green Eyed Soul (Audio CD)
If you like (R&B) music from artists like: Whintey Housten, Mariah Carey or Toni Braxton you will like this!!
The first album of the German R&B Singer Sarah Connor is great! She's one of my favourite singers!
These are the tracks:
Let's get back to bed-boy!:
the 1st single of the album a great R&B flow and a great combination of rap (US rapper TQ) and sing.
If U were my man:
A combination of pop and R&B sounds a little like Samntha Mumba
French Kissing:
A very romantic song with a sample of the Blackstreet song "no diggity" This is the single I like the best of this album!
Magic Ride (whatever U wish 4):
A duet with rapper TQ again it has a very catch melody!
From Sarah with love:
A beautiful ballad here worldwide break through. Sounds a little bit like "un break my heart" from Toni Braxton.
Make U high:
You must dance on this song!!
In my house:
A cover of the Mary Jane Girls. I have never heard the original. This song has a electronical voice like Cher's believe.
Where do we go from here:
A mid-tempo song if you re-play this song to much this will be bored I think.
I can't lie:
A pop/R&B song with a catchy hook before you know you sing-a-long with this song.
Imagining:
The second ballad of the albumI like this but it's a little bit to long (5:23)
Every little thing:
the same as I can't lie
Undressed:
One of my favourits on the album you must sing-a-long this song!
Can't get none:
this songs is produced by the Us rapper TQ and Sarah had to talk fast in this song. It has a catchy melody
Man of my dreams:
The same as I can't lie
Let us come 2gether:
This is also one of my favouritse I like the Caribian sounds in this song. If you listen to this and you close your eyes you think you're on a hot summer-day on a beach on a beautiful Island.
When I dream:
Has a dreaming "ladida" chorus
Let's get back to bed-boy! (Gena B Good-remix)
I prefer the original but this is fun to.
One of the best albums of 2001. And 1 of the best debut albums I ever heard.

This CD CANNOT be played on a PC/MAC, so maybe 2 stars., July 2, 2002

Sarah Connor born on 13 Jun 80 in a small town called Delmenhost, Germany. Her Grandfather was born in New Orleans, so she grew up with blues and soul influences. She has a great voice, I was told it was operatically trained. Few songs on this CD make use of the voice I heard on German M-TV. The CD does cover a wide range of music styles. Green Eyed Soul has the Hit singles (read on). The CD has Hip-hop, tender ballads, soul, and a touch of R&B. Not being a big fan of Rap, I think that the some of the songs are killed by the soft Pop/Rap that is incorporated into them. 2 of the songs feature TQ from the USA. Half the songs on this CD are fashioned after other female Pop songs. About half I would like to rip and put on another CD or on my computer the other half I could care less for... Sarah Connor has done well on the German, and Austrian charts. Her single "Let's get back to bed boy" made its way to Number 2 in Germany and into the top ten in many countries in Europe. The single "From Sarah with Love" became her first number one single. X-Cell Records is a sister company of Sony, so you know who to e-mail or call to complain when you can not play it on you PC/Mac. If a buddy swiped it, I would not replace it. My wife didnt finish listening to it. FYI almost all the songs are suggestive of sex.
