 Information on Green Products
A growing number of manufacturers are producing green home cleaning products that are healthier and more environmentally responsible. Currently, there is no industry standard definition for natural cleaners. The manufacturers of products in our Green Store have represented that they are not tested on animals, come in recyclable packaging, and contain ingredients that are non-toxic, biodegradable, and free of petrochemicals. You will find the ingredients for these cleaning products clearly listed on our web site or the product package. Paper or plastic items in our Green Store are ones that the manufacturer states are either 100% biodegradable or made from 100% recyclable material. Batteries featured in our Green Store are ones that that manufacturer has indicated are rechargeable.

Anyway, might as well support the brick and mortar, while saving myself some money and all that petroleum!

The toilet paper is a nice product that prevents trees from being cut down by being 100% recycled and 50% of that post consumer.
Jim Burger
The rolls disappear too quickly, not just because they are a bit small, but due to the thinness of the paper.

I've ordered from Green Forest several times and love the company, but these rolls just aren't worth it. They run out veeeeery fast. Try Green Tree on this site. They also have free shipping. I still love the brand and recommend the facial tissues/paper towels.

I recycle my trash, but unless someone uses that recycled stuff, what's the point. The toilet paper is a nice product that prevents trees from being cut down by being 100% recycled and 50% of that post consumer. Is it White Cloud or squeezably Charmin? No, but it does job. Until I can buy such a product at my local store, I will continue to purchase this from Amazon. I'll try their facial tissues next.

Softer than expected but a roll sure doesn't last long. At 44 cents per roll for only 198 sheets, it's a little pricey.

Like most, I was hesitant to try using "eco-friendly" toilet paper because I thought it wouldn't be "human friendly." Not true with this stuff! Granted, the rolls are too small, but Green Forest has recently launched thicker, larger double rolls. Haven't found them yet on Amazon, but can't wait! This stuff is much better than the Seventh Generation stuff.

October, 2010: Dang. They ruined a good thing. I've been buying Green Forest TP for several years (see my original, five-star review below) However, I am sad to report that the company just changed its manufacture of this tissue and it is now a rather abrasive, single-ply product, and unpleasant to use. I'm going to have to switch brands, which I am not happy about.

Anyone have suggestions for an eco-friendly alternative?

"This is our preferred brand, July 11, 2007"

Environmentally friendly (or so they say) and reasonably comfortable... No horrid perfume is also a definite plus. WAY better than the Seventh Generation toilet paper, which is a far inferior product. By comparison, Green Forest is quite luxurious.

We also like this company's paper towels -- no nonsense and durable.

I am very happy with this toilet paper. I read previous reviews, so I knew that it was not a toilet paper that had a long lasting roll. However, the reason I like it is that it is free of some of the chemicals that come in regular toilet paper. My daughter has some very bad chemical sensitivities, and other toilet papers don't work well for her. It doesn't have those little lint flakes like some brands, and its not really harsh and thin like some brands. It is not the softest toilet paper on the market, but I have found that most of the ones that claim to be soft have those little lint balls. If you want a really long lasting roll, this one isn't it, but it lasts a very long time for us because my daughter is the only one using it. We only go through a roll per week so it is really not expensive for us to buy. Anyway, I just think this one is great, and I personally like the softness of it, as it seems to me that its the perfect medium between soft and harsh.

If money isn't your primary motivator, if you want to use a "green" product that is of good quality, then try this.

I really hated the Seventh Generation toilet paper. Just totally fell apart and was uncomfortably rough to boot. This one is soft (not Charmin soft, but comfortably soft) and does the job without turning into mush (like 7th Gen).

However, the remarks about the short roll-life are true. I find I go through one a day EASILY just by myself (ie, not counting hubby). Buying in bulk will be the way to go if you choose this.

However, I compared it to my previous fave T.P.--Angel Soft--and it was comparable in how long the regular size roll lasted.

If you're used to double rolls, it might be frustrating. If you use single rolls and are generous with how much, get ready to change rolls daily or twice a day (depending, right?)

I like this product. As long as I can afford to, I'll buy green. But, realy, for folks on a tight, tight budget, consider how fast a 12 pack will last for you--could be less than a week for a couple, less than a few days for a family.

But thumbs up for making recycled soft on my delicate bits.

Mir

This is the most environmentally friendly toilet tissue ranked by Greenpeace : [...]
Someone else posted that you should try Green Tree; according to [...] Green Tree tissue is 100% recycled and they do not use chlorine bleach, all good but they do not mention if any of that recycled paper is post-consumer which is important. Just FYI ..

I bought a case of this a year ago and still have 24 rolls left. I live alone so that should give you an idea of how long this lasts.
