4.0 out of 5 stars Great BPA-Free Bottle
We used Avent bottles for my first daughter, and had pulled them out again for use with our new baby (now almost 4 mos old). After hearing the reports about BPA in the news, I decided to switch to a BPA-free bottle. I looked online and in Babies R US for alternatives. I decided against glass because of how heavy they are and with having an older child I was concerned...

3.0 out of 5 stars thought they would be good........
these bottles may be great for others but weren't so good for us. the nipples collapsed and ended up giving my son a lot of gas. although the bottles seem to be well made and are environmentally friendly they just didn't work for us. we ended up using dr.browns which are a hassle to clean but certainly worked much better.

We used Avent bottles for my first daughter, and had pulled them out again for use with our new baby (now almost 4 mos old). After hearing the reports about BPA in the news, I decided to switch to a BPA-free bottle. I looked online and in Babies R US for alternatives. I decided against glass because of how heavy they are and with having an older child I was concerned about safety with our newborn. Finding a good plastic BPA-free bottle was more challenging. At Babies R US when I visited about 2 weeks ago, there was only two types of plastic BPA-free bottles. An Evenflow variety, which I purchased and tried with our baby. It was inexpensive and seemed to us to be cheaply made, particularly the nipples. They also had Born Free bottles, but I had read some negative reviews on it and moved on. I purchased a Green to Grow bottle from a local organic baby store, tried it for a day, and then went back and bought 3 more. I have been using them exclusively for over a week and here are my pros & cons:

Pros
BPA-free and Phthalate-Free
All parts appear to be extremely well made and durable
Socially responsible company
Attractive design

Cons
Cost--they are $10 locally, and I found that if I were to purchase one online it would have cost me around $20 for a single bottle to be shipped
Nipple that comes with the bottle is super fast sometimes and even squirts our little one in the eye! It's supposed to be the slow variety, but when turned upside down it can come out in a single stream.

They do say on their website that the Gerber NUK nipples fit their bottles well and can help with infants transitioning from Avent. I am going to purchase these today to see if they help. All-in-all, we do love these bottles and are so happy to have made the switch to BPA-free.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great bottles, April 16, 2008

After reading about the potential harmful effects of BPA on kids I threw away all my Avent bottles and first replaced them with Born Free bottles. I hated those. At that time I was no longer breastfeeding and had switched my daughter to formula. The Born Free bottles were not practical at all to mix the water and formula because when you put the cap on it does not touch the nipple so of course when you shake it the milk goes everywhere. Then I found the Green to Grow bottles and it solved all my problems. The cap does touch the nipple so no worries about spilling milk everywhere when you shake them or transport them. In addition to being safe and practical those bottles are super cute, easy to clean and very easy to hold for my daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great plastic bottle, November 3, 2008
These are great little bottles made of a safe plastic. I predominantly use Dr. Brown's glass bottles, but these are a wonderful alternative when going out. What I love is that my daughter can grip them well due to their shape. They don't have a venting system, so they didn't work well as a breast milk bottle when my daughter was younger. One thing to note is that the nipple flow is generous! The first stage in Green to Grow is equivalent to a 2 in Dr. Browns.

4.0 out of 5 stars They work!, June 19, 2008

We had been using the Dr. Brown bottles for months but with the whole BPA thing we tried the Born Free bottles and our daughter would rather starve than drink from them. It was a mess. So, now we have a Green to Grow bottle. She like this one much better. And, the nice thing is the entire Dr. Brown vent system (middle insert, screw cap and nipple) will fit onto the regular neck 10 oz G2G bottle!!! We have been using the Dr. Brown vent system with the G@G bottle and nipple and it has worked great. I haven't given this a thorough leak testing on an outing in the diaper bag yet so beware if you try this but it works great at home. Now the only thing I need to find out is if the middle insert for the Dr. Brown bottles have BPA or any other nasties in it that we should be avoiding.
I would have given G2G 5 stars but they are really expensive which is a con for us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't leak! Great expert flow nipples!, August 30, 2008
I've tried tons of bottles. This one is great because the plastic is safe, it doesn't leak and you can buy different nipples for it. The lid keeps it from leaking while traveling. The small size is easy to hold for little hands. I fill up two at a time for my two year old, who may be old for a bottle, but I don't mind because the plastic is safe and she loves them!

3.0 out of 5 stars My experience with this bottle, July 14, 2008
This review is from: Green to Grow 10 oz. Regular Neck Bottle- BPA Free (Baby Product)
Well, this is a great bottle, as it is BPA-free and Phthalate-Free, also got a cute look, HOWERVER, I gave it 3 stars because of the nipple. Green to grow's nipples are horrible. They are really hard.... My 4 months daughter had a hard time sucking from it, and she gets tired feeding quickly. I really watched her having hard time sucking this hard rubber ending up chewing instead! Maybe for older babies its fine, but ya...its not good for the baby soft gum too. But the good news is, I could replace their nipple with Medela nipple, which is very soft and also toxic free. They are wonderful. I also used pigeon nipples. All in all, I like these bottles and I'm going to order more, but not the nipples of course.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, April 9, 2010

MugZ (Highlands Ranch, CO United States) - See all my reviews
I purchased these bottles when I was pregnant with our third son because of the scare with plastic bottles. I have been very happy with both the bottles and the nipples. My son stayed with the slow flow for almost a year but graduated to the fast flow and each step has been a good experience.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing Special, March 25, 2009
This is a high priced bottle. Ultimately I found it was not greatly different from bottles half its price or even cheaper. At one point when BPA free bottles were rare it might have rocked. Now it is just like everything else. The nipple is soft though and for a while it suited my daughter well on that account. It is too soft for some babies even newborns. This might be a great bottle for preemies though.

5.0 out of 5 stars The bottles are great!, December 20, 2008
I really like the fact that these bottles are bpa free. They also fit the Gerber Nuk nipples that are suppose to help prevent nipple confusion for babies that are breastfeed. I also really like the fact that they are standard size and fit my breast pump (Ameda Purely Yours). The wide bottom and narrow top are really nice for feeding, it gives the bottle holder a nice way to hold/grasp the bottle when feeding. They also fit great in a bottle warmer. The lids are also a nice feature to have for travel and storage. I would highly recommend these bottles. In fact I plan to purchase the larger 10 oz size. Enjoy!
