For every entry, the authors, journalists at the Miami Herald , provide details on the following: exact location, hours, admission, best time to visit, activities, concessions, pets, and other, i.e., special features. Complete addresses and telephone numbers are also given. Although the guide focuses on natural areas, the emphasis on recreational activities such as camping and fishing seems to limit its audience to travelers seeking these pursuits. Recommended for collections strong in camping and recreational travel.

This book provides a great overview of the various habitats in Florida. The author has personally visited each park (at least once) and sometimes gives historical information on changes. Park directions, fees, facilities, pros and cons are provided for each park. It's a great book for anyone looking to explore Florida's nature and wildlife.
