Peter Green plays absolutely some of the saddest blues guitar ever recorded. This album is a start to finish showcase of Green's melancholic vocals backed by his stinging guitar licks and solos. The songs in this collection range from instrumentals to blues/rock with each exhibiting the same dreamy atmospheric quality that Green has become so revered for. This compilation is an ideal buy for a person searching for skillfully deep music from a uniquely talented and passionate musician.

When I bought this CD, I only knew Peter Green from old Fleetwood Mac video footage. Those brief clips impressed me enough to purchase this CD. A Fool No More is a great, slow, pensive, haunting blues song. Loser Two Times, Last Train, The Clown, Carry My Love, and Baby When The Sun Goes Down are all solid, enjoyable songs. In the Skies and Slabo Day are decent instrumentals, and the others are a mixed bag. In sum, this is a very good CD that confirms Peter Green's talent as a song writer and player of beautiful, understated, melodic, and eminently soulful guitar.

At first it seemed that the Green Manalishi had sucked Peter Green out of this world. After he left Fleetwood Mac, Green was lost in a whirlwind of confusion. He disappeared from the public eye until 1978 when he re-emeged with In The Skies. Although it's clear that his demons weren't behind him, he was still able to make compelling music. This collection gathers the cream of his best solo work from 78 through 82. It was a brief, but ultimately rewarding time for fans of Green's work.

While the songwriting wasn't always up to the standard that Green had established in Fleetwood Mac, the stand out tracks collected here compare favorably with Green's best. Little Dreamer recalled Albatross without borrowing too much from that classic single. There are many moments that recall Green's best work scattered throughout this collection. Even the less than stellar songwriting still provided an opportunity for Green to shine as a guitar player.

The weakest material was penned by Green's brother Michael. These tracks aren't bad they just lack the fire of Peter's passionate reworking of the blues. Green & Guitar is a very good overview of Green's work during this time before he was lost to the wilderness again. Although Green's seminal work with Mac isn't as well known to fans of the latter day band, it paved the way for later albums by various line ups. The best salute to Green came with Lindsey Buckingham's performance of Green's classic Oh Well on the band's 1981 live album. In that rare performance of Green era material Buckingham managed to channel Green's tortured talent.

A very diverse collection of songs from a once great blues/rock guitarist, this collection seems more a shot at late 70's marketability than a showcase of Green's talents.

A mixture of 70's jazz/rock fusion and latin inspired songs, that put me more in mind of Carlos Santana than Peter Green.

While there are a few highpoints namely Last Train to San Antone, A Fool No More, and Baby When the Sun Goes Down, I would not recommend this for an introduction to Green's music. If you looking for a good example of Green's guitar work, pick up one of the early Fleetwood Mac or John Mayhall albums.

I'm amassing such a collection of Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac CD's and this one is great as well. Newer stuff, and I'm pretty partial to original Fleetwood Mac work, but this is quite enjoyable and is good to know he is still my favorite guitar god.

On this incredible disc, Green reaussures the fact that he is the king of British blues. Now that he's coming back again, it's fantastic to reflect on what made him a legend.

By far the best post Fleetwood Mac album. ( and maybe Mac work as well!) Shows Peter to be not only a great player but a great songwriter. A must have for anyone even slightly interested in Green's work.

This is an absolutely fabulous album by our good man Green. It spans several styles of guitar playing and is brilliant to listen to. It would probably be quite good if you were stoned, too.
