I had no intention of buying this book until one evening in July my wife spotted something strange in her vegetable garden (in Akron, Ohio). Yes it was a juvenile green iguana that I managed to capture about an hour later. I was unable to find a local rescue society and did not want to give it to a pet store because we thought someone tossed it out and we did not want to have it sold to a like minded person. Several hundred dollars later the iguana, JJ, is living in my apartment.
I can only join in the many other reviews that highly recommend this book. It has everything you need to know about keeping iguanas including great advice on the "Ultimate Substrate" that I am using now. Combined with information from the Green Iguana Society I can't imagine that any question about pet iguanas would go unanswered. Just as important it shows these animals as having the potential to become friendly and endearing pets with a real personality. So if you are thinking about getting an iguana read this book, preferably before you acquire one.

This is by far the most complete and comprehensive book about the green Iguana we have found. It covers everything you need to know, and more you did not even think of before. I highly recommend anyone who has or wants to get an Iguana read this, it will save you time and money, and possibly be the difference for a healthy and happy Iguana

This book is amazing and walks you through every stage of an iguanas life. i recommend it for anyone who is thinking of purchasing or adopting an iguana. These lizards require much care but everything you will ever need to know about them is in this book from feeding, housing, their anatomy, temperaments, medical issues, breeding and even taming! not only that but it's very entertaining to read. I love the author's humor and the conversational writing style.
Definitely recommend!

Do you want a happy healthy IGUANA? Then please go ahead and purchase this large book. I can really recomment this Iguana book. It's very detailed and includes very important information which I have so far not experienced in any other Iguana books. Special section on taming and training. Don't miss it its a must to read this book in my eyes and its very amusing to read it as well besides the very interesting information. Enjoy

Loved this book, it is so full of valuable information. It completely surpasses all the other iguana books I have gotten in the past. Great addition to any iguana household.

A Fantastic Book and very comprehensive. He gives you all the information that you will ever need if you want an iguana. PURCHASE THIS BOOK BEFORE YOU OWN AN IGUNA. There are full plans for making the ultimate home and I wish I would have had it before I had one built. All the others books I purchased are obsolate!

First-rate coverage of the whys & wherefores of raising iguanas, especially the Green Iguana. It would be a good idea to read the first few chapters before buying to get a feel for the Iguana "lifestyle".

....He'd tell you to read "Green Iguana: The Ultimate Owner's Manual"!!This is THE"Bible" of all things green iguana.An owners manual I wish I had when first became an iguana owner in the "Dark Ages" of raising them, pre-1980.You owe it to your little buddy to gain as much knowledge as you can about him and this book will most certainly address any issues you may have.A must read!
