More About the Author

In 1993 the best thing ever to happen to anyone happened to me, I became a mom. In 1994 in an effort to A) feed my child and B) make the world into a Utopian society so my kid would grow up into a better world than my generation did I started my company Green Babies. Today we are the oldest existing organic cotton baby clothing company in the US. Over the continuing course of my parenting journey I met wonderful people and learned some amazing things. My husband and I had 2 more daughters so by 1997 we were officially outnumbered. We moved to the bucolic 'burbs from Manhattan and got very very green. After many years of speaking to many expectant parents I decided it was time to put down on paper the most important green choices for your baby's (and family's) health and wellness, so with a great editor and alot of help from brilliant Green Gurus I wrote Green Babies, Sage Moms, as a guide to a better, easier and greener way. Two years later that baby grew up into Green Kids Sage Families. And I must say, these were the first books to talk about health concerns with BPA, Phthalates, Synthetic Turf, Parabens, Offgassing Mattresses and Cell Phones and Pediatric Cancer. Some of those issues are commonly in the news today, and some not so much yet, but they will be based on the evidence I've read.
Many parents are alarmed and even downright frightened by what's going on in the world, and specifically what seems to be happening to children here in the US. I can tell you there are very simple, makes-sense, not just for movie-star millionaires choices you can implement to preserve your child's happiness and health. And at the end of the day, what else is there?

: )

This review is from: Green Kids, Sage Families: The Ultimate Guide to Raising Your Organic Kids (Mass Market Paperback)
This book offers practical and affordable advice to help parents protect the health of their children, especially the 1 in 3 American children that now has ADHD, autism, allergies or asthma.

As articles in the New York Times and across the media continue to highlight research linking environmental toxins to our children's health conditions, GREEN KIDS SAGE FAMILIES is an insightful and remarkably valuable resource for American parents - for which we owe the author, Lynda Fassa, a debt of gratitude.
