Kyle Rayner is cool, man!, June 23, 2011
This review is from: Green Lantern: A New Dawn (Paperback)
I put off reading Kyle Rayner's run for a long time. For one, it was out of print. Two, I wasn't sure if I'd really like him or not. But he's a fantastic character. Kyle, Wally West, & Dick Grayson are three of my favorite DC characters. Anyways, this graphic novel was a great read, I enjoyed every minute of it. It's pretty short, though. Took me about an hour straight of reading it to finish it. Their's some cool guest apparences (Alan Scott & Clark Kent). It's a pretty emotional story as well. Kyle reminds me of Peter Parker, just a little bit. Which is great. I'd love to see Kyle on the big screen someday. I'm hopeful. He's got a great story. This is coming from a huge Hal Jordan fan (yet another reason I put off reading this), I think I like Kyle just a little more than Hal now. Both are quite cool.
I'd recommend reading this graphic novel if you're interested in Kyle.

New writer, new hero... the birth of a new legend, October 19, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Green Lantern: A New Dawn (Paperback)
In JLA, the Sandman told Green Lantern Kyle Rayner that he is destined to become the greatest of any to weild the emerald power ring. Looking back on the events of A NEW DAWN, you wouldn't think it would ever be possible. After receiving the last power ring (only because he was there at the time), Kyle was brash, arrogant, cocky and overconfident... and I dare anyone out there to deny they wouldn't be the same with the most powerful weapon in the universe on their finger. Ron Marz started his finest work right here - the creation not of a comic book character, but of a real human being who exists in the crazy, intense, fantastical world of the DC Universe. From the humour of Kyle's day at the beach, to the shock that awaits him inside his girlfriend's apartment (truly THE most distrubing, horrifying and at once most powerful moment in recent comics history), we are taken along with Kyle as he learns what it means to be a hero. Outstanding.

There's a new boy in town - yay!!!, October 2, 2001
This review is from: Green Lantern: A New Dawn (Paperback)
While many people still dwell over the fact that Hal Jordan is no longer with us as the GREEN LANTERN (going nuts and killing all other GL's around then adopting a GOD-like attitude will do that to you), it seems that an equal amount if not more have accepted and ended up loving KYLE RAYNER as the newly appointed GL. This story will take you back to the early days of KYLE, coming to grips with his new destiny. See what made him the hero he is today - recommended reading!!
