Most of the reviews evaluate this item on the basis of its "fun factor."

This laser rates really high on the cool scale. Sure it will confound your cat and blind your friends in that context -- I'd even be wary that it may cause permanent retina damage if aimed carelessly/foolishly.

So don't do that, PLEASE; and don't lend it to your son or daughter, even for a moment.

But I am a secondary science teacher, and often use LCD projectors or point to the Periodic Table. In that context, this unit REALLY grabs attention, whether the room is lit or not. Astonishingly bright; unusual in its color; highly-focused (no stray beams or static); even shows up clearly on the surface of a CRT or flat screen TV.

Others have commented on the switch (somewhat jiggly and loose; likely to fail?).

I concur. But even with that in mind, I look at the overall quality as compared to price: absolutely no question that this is a GREAT value.

This laser is listed at $149 dollars, and has a "92% discount." It is maybe worth the $11. It is very bright every time you turn it on but dims out after a second. the beam is fairly unfocused. I changed the batteries but it still dims out. Overall maybe worth $11, however i look down on the fact that the merchant would list this laser at a ridiculous price to make it seem expensive. Shady tactic, there. In addition the case is basically cardboard with a magnet in it.

Great green laser pointer. Very bright in the night sky. The laser drains AAA batteries extremely fast though, and not sure why

I have always wanted a really bright, green laser pointer. At first, that is what I got. After only a few days, the laser started to get weak and sometimes not even work. (yes, i changed the batteries) Right now it will be bright for like a half of a second and thats all I can get out of it.

I got the laser pointer in the mail in only 3 days. When it arrived the case that held the laser pointer was made out of card board. That was disappointing, but not too bad. When I used the laser, it worked like a charm.You can see the laser from very far away even in the morning and afternoon. The only complaint that I have is the card board case.

This thing does not stay bright for long at all. I tried with many different pairs of new batteries (1.5v) and it would be bright for a few seconds and then dim. Seemed random with each click.
I do not recommend this item to anyone.

when i first got this laser i was amazed with the range. it went all the way down my street and it was still bright. Then after some time the cheap batteries they give you died quick and it was coming out dim red. Now after new batteries sometimes the thing works and comes out bright green other times it gets really dim and sometimes it doesn't even work so i will RMA.

this is worth the buy. it has smooth material and goes far in daylight. It is dangerous for imature kids but it is cool to have and is great quality. htis is really powerful and is fricken awesome.

CubeNova's review was dead on. I got the shipment on time but out of the box my laser's activation button was smashed in and did not work. VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product.

This is a great laser pointer! I have used many laser pointers for my job and this one is the best, by far! I keep my pointer in my pocket with other tools. I wish they made laser pointers with a different type of switch or a way to cover the switch when it's in my pocket. I am so sick of it turning on while in my pocket. I still give this one 5 reviews because no one makes a switch like that.
