Much help for Christians who are suffering,
By A Customer
This review is from: Green Leaf in Drought (Paperback)
The Matthews family were among the last missionaries out of China as the country went down to the Communists. This is the story of the two years they spent near the Mongolian border, tested in every way. Their faith grew strong in the Refiner's fire, as they found the Living God able to meet every need. This book will give you principles and practical help for the suffering you are undergoing as a believer in Jesus Christ.

A beautiful, amazing testimony of faith during hardship!,

This review is from: Green Leaf in Drought (Paperback)
I could not read this book without crying, it was so full of God's grace and care for those who give up all to follow Christ. Filled with eye-witness accounts of the Chinese Communistic terrors, this book is both inspiring and entertaining.

A pathway through suffering,
By A Customer
This review is from: Green Leaf in Drought (Paperback)
This book will touch your emotions and inspire your mind in an unforgettable way. The faith of Arthur and Wilda Mathews amazes me. Their insight into the purposes of God, their ability to trust and obey, and their humble resolve in the face of great difficulty are a testimony to the sustaining power of God. Few people have lived as deep a firsthand experience of uncertainty and hardship as the Mathews. Only God could give the Mathews family the faith and courage to live through the events recorded in this book.

One of the best books I have ever read,
By Dorrie A (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews

This was the true story of a missionary couple literally stuck in China when communism was taking over. Politically, it was thought best that they stay in the country, but the Chinese people were afraid of the ramifications if they would treat them well. Therefore they were left literally on their own, without any native help or other missionaries, in a remote part of China. Their story is amazing and a sure testimony to God's provision, mercy, and love. I love all of Isobel Kuhn's books, but this was my favorite.
