.... and I do have a strong opinion. "Super Bloom" works great!

Every 14 days I dissolve two tablespoons of Super Bloom into a two gallon bucket of water and apply to the flower beds. The results have been impressive. Despite the hottest and driest summer in Charlotte, NC history our Gerber Daisies and Mums have flourished (although we do water almost daily). We went from one to two flowers on the Daisies to five and six...with much bigger and thicker stems. Overall, in the last 8 weeks the plants have doubled in size.

Pros-

- Easy to use - quickly mixes with water.
- Does not seem to stain our concrete (I am a bit of a sloppy waterer)
- Everything flourishes once "Super Bloom" is applied.
- I have yet to accidently "over-fertilize"

Cons-

- I really can't think of a disadvantage!

As a whole "Super Bloom" is an economical way to maximize your flower beds. In fact, it may do such a good job that you feel compelled to write an Amazon review too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Bloom makes your plants want to bloom, September 3, 2011
This review is from: Green Light 97001 Super Bloom - 1 lb (Lawn & Patio)
The two pound container of Super Bloom is the best value; likely this size container will provide the average homeowner with about a year's supply.

On the front of the container you will find the numbers 12-55-6; this is required by law. These numbers represent the percentage (by weight) of the three major nutrients required for healthy plant growth, always in the same order: nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium (N-P-K). Each of these nutrients affects plant growth differently, and the formulation you select should depend on your specific gardening needs.

Super Bloom has 12% nitrogen, 55% phosphorus, and 6% potassium by weight. It has a very high percentage (55%) of phosphorus. Phosphorous stimulates root growth, hastens the maturity of plants, promotes development of flowers, fruits, seeds; and remains in the soil well. A phosphorous deficiency can result in slow or stunted growth and perhaps a purplish discoloration on the leaves of the plants. I use Super Bloom as a supplement to my standard all purpose fertilizer and my rose fertilizer; I treat my roses and other flowering plants to a dose about once a month and my roses/flowers treat me to great and continous blooms.

All purpose fertilizer has percentages of 10/10/10, or 5/5/5, or 20/20/20 (or some type of balanced numbers) - a somewhat equal amount of nitrogen, phosphorus, and postassium by weight. Plants need all of these three key fertilizers to do their best, and the whooping 55% phosphorus from Super Bloom encourages your flowers to bloom their best.

So, if your flowers/roses/etc. are not giving you the blooms you'd like, then trying the one pound container is worth a try. If it works for you and your flowers then you'll get a better value on the two pound size. I'd suggest a two gallon plastic water can to mix it in and share it among you flowering plants.

Having your soil analyzed will likely provide you a bases of what type of fertilizer you need for your plants and flowers.
