Book Description

July 7, 2004 1418434159 978-1418434151
It is doubtful if another woman has so openly and boldly shared with us her personal and private experiences with a professional football team. In fact, few women have had the opportunity or ability to fit in with the "guys" and create friendships which have endured for a lifetime. Love, laughter, and tears mix in this riveting and slightly risqué love story, and the home-spun philosophy causes one to pause and consider the validity of the remarks. Both women and men find themselves captured by the frank and endearing stories of individuals who are household names to Green Bay Fans, and they enjoy tidbits of pro-football history, as well as interesting and relatively unknown facts interwoven throughout the text. It is a love affair, encompassing comedy and tragedy, which started and will end with a lifelong passion to be part of what goes on in Lambeau Field. Where does a woman fit into this picture? Modeled and tested by the Champions of Green Bay, this author expresses deep and honest feelings about the lessons learned from relationships with players which shaped and directed her life, and tells us what it was like for her. to run with the "PACK."

5.0 out of 5 stars Five thumbs-up!, February 21, 2007

Sandy Sullivan is a doll of an author, and in this book she certainly does not fail to disappoint! The book is an excellent history on some of the best and brightest years of Green Bay Packer's football. And she would certainly know it all since she was always right there on the sideline, in the locker rooms, and spending all sorts of time personally cheering on the team. If you are a Packer's fan then this book is certainly for you. You won't be able to put it down at night, and you will learn so much that you never even knew about the greatest era of football and the greatest football team in U.S. history...the Green Bay Packers! Yeah, go green and gold!!!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your time, March 28, 2011
This review is from: Green Bay Love Stories and Other Affairs (Paperback)
I read extensively, and seldom read a book that doesn't have something redeeming to offer, until now. The author, Sandy Sullivan, is a name-dropping nobody (oh wait, she was a Milwaukee "model") who offers up tales of times she spent with former Green Bay Packers. She spent a lot of time drinking and sleeping with any of the team members who would have her, and she seems to think that makes her important and that we are interested in her life. I could live with that, but the book is very poorly written also. She underlines words or phrases with complete abandon, and the punctuation is horrendous. How this book ever got past an editor is beyond me. My husband picked it up and tried to read it, but after two chapters he said he couldn't go on reading "the most awful book ever written". It's hard to believe this book was published in 2004, because it reads like something written 40-50 years before that. Truly awful!!!!!
