5.0 out of 5 stars One of my consistent favorites
No matter how many different types of coffee I try for my Keurig, the Sumatran Bold is always one of the ones I come back to. Flavorful, rubust, rich but not bitter. This is the one I go to when I want a nice strong cup.

In milder times, I enjoy the Columbian Supremo from Timothy's and Breakfast Blend from Green Mountain.

Give this a shot!

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Sumatran K-Cup of All
For reference, I have tried The Puck sumatran and the Diedrich. This Green Mountain sumatran was bitter and lifeless. It tasted stale and old, even though it was well within the sell-by date. For further reference, I also roast my own sumatran at home. I rate that a 10, starbucks would be a 9, the Puck k-cups would be an 8 as the best of the k-cups. I give this a flat 1...

5.0 out of 5 stars In my top 5!, February 17, 2007

This is just wonderful. Full-bodied and very flavorful. #2 in my top five. After trying dozens of blends (yes, dozens) - Green Mountain has distinguished itself as the leader of the k-cup pack. I'm not much for "flavored" coffee (though I do appreciate the aromas), but Green Mountain coffees (especially the bolds and extra bolds) are very robust and just plain taste GREAT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Bold Coffee - Highly Recommended, August 20, 2010
This review is from: Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Organic Sumatran Reserve, 24-Count K-Cups For Keurig Brewers (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
Green Mountain "Sumatran Reserve (Extra Bold)" K-Cups makes a very good cup of coffee in my Keurig B-40 B40 Elite Gourmet Single-Cup Home-Brewing System. This is a very strong tasting brew that has much more flavor and kick than the Coffee People, Donut Shop K-Cups for Keurig Brewers (Pack of 50) [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging] I generally drink in the morning.

While I really enjoy this coffee, my wife finds it too strong and bitter for her liking. She prefers Emeril's Big Easy Bold Coffee for Keurig Brewers, 24-Count K-Cups (Pack of 2) made on the machine's "large" cup setting for her "Bold" coffee.

Highly Recommended!

Very disappointing, will not purchase again. I wrote this about five minutes after finishing a cup, and I still have a terrible, bitter aftertaste. A true sumatran will have an earthy, almost tangy flavor, but with no bitterness. I would say they used coffee beans that had been sitting around for a while.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Coffee, August 5, 2010

This is one of my favorite K-Cups out of the 20 or so we currently have on hand.
It just has a very satisfying flavor, not too strong, not too weak, not bitter.
I put about 1/3rd of a teaspoon of sugar and about 3 Teaspoons (one tablespoon) of 1/2 & 1/2 and its just perfect.

I personally buy this from Bed Bath & Beyond because amazingly it is cheaper there.
I get 20% off coupons from them about every 3 weeks, in fact get 2 because I have my wife get them at her work also so we get 2 a month plus sometimes a $5 off of $15 coupon on top of that.
So I pay $8.15 (after tax) for a pack of 18, that works out to $24.45 for 3 packs (54 K-Cups) so much better deal than $38 for 48.

I would give his product 4 stars but becase of the price, I'm dropping it to 4. The price of all k-cups over the last year have risen ridiculously in price! But the is a good, bold coffee without tasting like you're licking dirt!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Tasty!, June 17, 2010
This review is from: Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Organic Sumatran Reserve, 24-Count K-Cups For Keurig Brewers (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
I tried this blend with a bit of skepticism; I thought that it wouldn't be as good as Black Magic, but it is just about as good. The Sumatran has a slightly harsher (in a good way) taste that leaves you wanting more! It has Anice aroma and a strong after-taste (which I like!). I will buy this again!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great coffee, but why 24 instead of 25?, February 8, 2008

This is one of our favor KCups but I wonder why Green Mountain chose to put only 24 cups in the box instead of the original 25. Seems pretty petty to me.
Otherwise, it's a great flavor...particularly with larger cups of coffee.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect K-Cup Coffee, December 25, 2010
This review is from: Green Mountain Coffee Fair Trade Organic Sumatran Reserve, 24-Count K-Cups For Keurig Brewers (Pack of 2) (Grocery)
This is the best coffee available for a Keurig machine. By far, IMHO.

Since getting my Keurig brewer I have tested 30+ blends (keeping a spreadsheet with a ranking system of all things), and of all the K-cup varieties that I've tried this blend stands out as by far the best.

The coffee is bold and strong, but not at all bitter or overpowering, and it stands up up well to cream and sugar.

The flavor is woodsy but smooth and mellow, with a slight hint of citrus and a mild nuttiness. The balance just works right.

Every day I brew this K-cup first thing in the morning and although I love to experiment with new blends, this one consistently tops the charts and every other blend is simply a comparison.

One more thing, if you are new to k-cups, please do a little research into the fair trade and organic origins of this coffee and that alone should be enough to make one a dedicated fan.
