Great Pan Set, but be Careful,
By Rick Talcott (Berkeley, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Green Pan 3 Pc Set 12 in Fry Pan with Lid and Steamer Black
I bought the single skillet from Target and returned it because it didn't have a lid and none of my lids would fit on the odd size opening. Then I bought the set just so I could get a skillet with a lid. My experience is that both the big and small skillets are excellent. The third pan in the set is a large skillet with raised ridges to make it a pretend grilling pan. Frankly, that pan is a joke, but it works well for those moments when you need a second large skillet. The steamer basket is adequate when perched on top of either skillet. Handles asparagus very well. The fit of the basket into the skillet isn't completely tight, so add a bit of extra water to cover vapor loss. I have seen many complaints about this product elsewhere about the skillet losing its non-stick ability. From what I can see, most of those complaints come from folks who either left an empty pan on the burner or who put the pan into the dishwasher. Don't do either one of those, and you'll be fine. The coating on the pan is slipperier than teflon. I don't recommend putting the pan in the oven even though the instructions say that you can. The handle will discolor which is aesthetically unappealing, but harmless. All in all, I highly recommend this set. If there were a green pan wok with a lid, I'd buy it in a moment.

Not really non-stick,

I have had the green pan skillet for about six months. I only hand wash this skillet and have never left it on a burner without food in it. I also use a small amount of olive oil when I use the skillet. I have found the skillet loses its non-stick capability over a period of time. Food has started to stick more and more as I use the skillet. I'm not sure what can be done to reduce this problem, but I agree with many of the statements I find when I Google "green pan + complaint."

Be afraid, very afraid,
This review is from: Green Pan 3 Pc Set 12 in Fry Pan with Lid and Steamer Black
I've had this same set of Green Pans for over a year now and I can honestly say they are the worst nonstick cookware I've ever used. I followed the instructions to the letter and even went back multiple times to read them again because I thought maybe I missed something. First use, after cleaning and seasoning per Green Pan instruction, they seemed to work as advertised. However each use after that came with poorer and poorer performance. Foods stick terribly and clean up is even worse. Do yourselves a favor and research as many user reviews as you can find before buying.

Greenpan NOT non-stick,
By Flathead McGee (Colorado, USA) - See all my reviews

Well, we bought one of these Greenpans, and it seemed to work well for a few days. Then things started to stick a little bit, and then a little bit more, and then much more. After 3 months of daily use it's a very annoying pan to use. Cast iron or stainless work much better than this pan at this point. We wasted our dollars on one of these. Don't waste yours. I'm ready to throw it out.
Some might argue that the 'green' part of it (how's it's made, what it's made of, etc.) is justification, but a cast iron skillet will last for 100 years instead of just a few months for a pan like this. Stainless should last for years and years as well. If you want to be "green" then reduce your consumption by buying a skillet that will last for many years, not this one.

Love these pans!,

I have always been a fan of Cook Essentials, so when my old set i had for 5+ years finally started to wear, I purchased the new anniversary set. To make a long story short, I hated my new pans and saw that the Cook Essentials started to make their pans with less quailty! My neighbor turned me onto the GreenPan. I needed a small skillet to cook some eggs, as i didn't have any pans to use, everything was packed up cause of moving. She brough over the GreenPan, and I absolutely loved it! I loved the way nothing stuck to it, i didn't even have to put a lot of butter in the pan. I immediately went to target and purchased the 6pc. set, I love them! Easy to clean, nothing sticks to them! I see people have complained about them, but I love them, haven't had any problems! I liked them so much, about a month of me owning the 6pc set, while shopping once more at Target, I found an 8pc set. But this set had pots!!! so to make my pan set complete, I purchased the 8pc set. I put about $170 into these pan sets, ($100 for 8pc & $70 for 6pc) I have no regrets! I will recommend these pans to anyone!

If this is non stick, so is my hairy rear...,

After 6 months with a Green Pan I finally threw it out with great satisfaction. Like others have said, these pans lose their non-stick properties very quickly, even if looking after them carefully. In fact, these pans actually turn into the opposite, into a gunk magnets! Worse than a cheap aluminium pan.
So dont believe the hype, Greenpan may have the right sentiment to produce non toxic pans, but I'm afraid they've missed the mark and are now capitalising on misleading consumers who are attracted to it's novelty. Frankly, they don't deserve your business. For now, its back to my old trusty seasoned cast iron and steel pots and pans, they never let me down...

I LOVE these pans! They are the best nonstick pans I have ever used. Incredibly easy to clean - they wipe clean! The cook very even and I can set my burner on a lower temperature than with most pans. I'm going to get a set for my mom for Mother's Day! I will be buying more to add to my collection. I love the "grill" pan too! Cooks turkey bacon like nobody's business. I'd highly recommend these pans.

I purchased these pans for $35.00. When I wanted to buy another set for my daughter the price doubled. This is a great set with a true non stick surface but I cant see paying twice the price within 3 months.
