5.0 out of 5 stars Great guide that makes you WANT to eat healthy!, April 17, 2009
This review is from: The Green Pregnancy Diet: Healthy eating habits for mommy, baby and the planet (Paperback)
I really liked this book, and I was surprised to find that I learned a few things (even beyond some really yummy recipes). In my job I look at environmental exposures to chemicals and the human health effects that may be related. It makes sense to limit exposures to chemicals, but many of us are not aware of what food or household products contain these materials. It is interesting to realize how you can easily make a few modifications to what you regularly eat to help out your health and the health of our planet. I would definately recommend this book to anyone who is pregnant or planning on being pregnant in the near future!

This review is from: The Green Pregnancy Diet: Healthy eating habits for mommy, baby and the planet (Paperback)
Ms. McLean has written a book about diet during pregnancy, but this cookbook should stay on your kitchen shelf even after the baby is born. These are healthy and easy-to-prepare recipes that even self-proclaimed non-cooks can make anytime. --Janine Gleason

5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal resource for moms to get the real dirt on how to have a green pregnancy, April 9, 2009
This review is from: The Green Pregnancy Diet: Healthy eating habits for mommy, baby and the planet (Paperback)
The market is crowded with books purporting to be the authoritative guide for pregnant women attempting to maintain a green lifestyle while caring for the baby to be, but most such books are not much more than product endorsements. I found this book to be especially helpful because I am hoping to be a mommy in the near future and as a prospective mother to be, I've been searching for an unbiased objective guide through the increasingly crowded aisles of the green produce and household products sections in the grocery store.

Most importantly, the author never patronizes the reader, as so many of the green authors are apt to do. Her advice is simply frank and her recipes are yummy.
