'Green is the Sea' is one of my favorite AATT CD's, January 5, 2001

Recently I've re-discovered 'And Also The Trees'. I have been a fan ever since my friend Ken made a tape for me of the 12" single: 'A Room Lives In Lucy'. It is still probably my most favorite thing put out by AATT because not only does it have the title track, which is GREAT, but, it also has my favorite 2 songs: "Scarlet Arch" & "There was a man of Double Deed". Until recently, those songs were not available on any of their regular albums....now they are added trax on re-issued CD's, or compilations. Anyhow, onto 'Green is the Sea'....I think it's my favorite AATT album/CD after the first 2 (self-titled, and 'Virus Meadow') I like 'Farewell to the Shade' & 'The Millpond Years', but not as much as 'Green'. I think the best songs on 'Green' are: "The Fruit Room" and "River of Flame". Absolutely incredibly moody, and moving music! "The Fruit Room" reminds one of 18th century imagery, and the lyrics are fantastic! It reminds me a bit of "The Pear Tree" if you're familiar with that song(from 'Farewell to the Shade'). "River of Flame" has incredible guitar work on it. It's the kind of music that makes you glad to be alive! Anyhow, I would definetly recommend this CD....it's worth getting, (especially if you're an AATT fan!) and I would say it's my favorite of the AATT CD's after 'Virus Meadow'.
