I was taking this particular extract several years ago, before I got pregnant, and just started on it again recently. I originally did a ton of research and comparison, and this was the only decaf extract I could find with such a high amount of EGCG (which I wanted for metabolic and antioxidant support). Anyway, it did seem to help my metabolism after a few weeks, but over time, I noticed I also wasn't getting colds and other viruses (even cold sores), even though I was working with a bunch of kids who were sick all the time!
Now that I have my own little one and am around other toddlers a lot, I've decided to try it again to see if I can get the same immune system boost. Plus, I still have weight to lose and can't tolerate caffeine at all anymore, so I absolutely have to have a decaffeinated extract. This does have a strong-ish green tea taste and smell, so you may want to wash it down with a tasty drink or food. I absolutely have to take it with food, or it'll upset my stomach badly (just as plain green tea, coffee, or a multivitamin will), but that's the only drawback I've found in years of using it. I have a lot of trouble losing weight, and I don't think it's going to make anyone drop a bunch of pounds, but I do think it helps our metabolisms SOME and immune systems quite a bit. I'd encourage you to do the research on EGCG for metabolism and how green tea (and good extracts) may ward off things like cancer for yourself, as well as talk to a good holistic health care professional, if you're curious.

Can't see the point in these. No redeemable qualities or reason for purchase that I can surmise.
