Is Your Teen GREEN? If not, this book will Encourage, Educate, Motivate & Inspire!,

This review is from: The Green Teen: The Eco-Friendly Teen's Guide to Saving the Planet (Paperback)
When I was a young teenager, I read "50 Things You Can Do to Save the World". It helped shape me into the Green Mama that I am today.
This book will help your child turn into part of the solution for global warming, for each and every one of us needs to do our part now to reduce our impact on this earth. The Green Teen by Jenn Savedge offers interesting and inspiring case studies of teens saving the world. It also provides and tips on how to get involved, why and how to go green. It is filled with plenty of web eco resources, ideas for organizing and communicating environmental change. It also includes ways to land job in the environmental field. The Green Teen is an eco-friendly teen's guide to saving the planet not only in it's message but in it's printing. "Children are the future!" This book helps your child realize how important it is to start doing something about saving the Earth now, and they'll probably end up teaching you a thing or two as well. I found the book to be very easy to read, thoughtful, well laid out and inspiring. I wished more emphasis were put on how changing your diet to vegetarian or even vegan could make such a big difference. [...]

The Green Teen- Top 5 Ways to Save the World!
I just finished reading, The Green Teen by Jenn Savedge. You can find her hiding out at www.g2ggreen.org. Her site states that she " is a full-time mom, environmentalist, and author who researches and writes about the two topics that are closest to her heart: children and the environment. As a former park ranger for the National Park Service, Jenn traveled the U.S., learning about the environment in some this country's most breath-taking wild places. She currently resides with her husband and daughters in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia." Her two passions filled the entire book! The Green Teen was totally focused on educating the teens on all the environmental buzz words. Her fun writing style will grab the attention of any teen ( I know because I have two) and explain to them how they can take on such issues such as "What can I do about Global Warming, Air Pollution, Deforestation, Sweatshops and Saving the Planet". She breaks it down in her Top 5 Ways! Each section followed the same format-How to Green something, Top 5 Ways to start, Why Bother doing it, G2G Green Tips, Planning stage with ideas and tips on how to go about it and my last two favorite steps were How to Get your Parents Involved and Surfing Sites! She also included teens who have made an impact with their projects. She clearly pointed out that if you want to Save Your World then start with yourself, your home and your school. Once you've done that then "take it to the streets" and get your idea moving through your community! I did a book review on my blog http://cafescrapper-scrapsoflife.blogspot.com/ and twitter i'm susieqtpie |
