I have been on a mission to find the best tea set for my daughter. Well, this it! Fantastic quality, it is made from recycled milk jugs, the plastic is nice and thick. A bonus is that it meets FDA regulations so you can actually drink from the set without worrying about absorbing some crazy chemicals. The lids on the teapot and sugar jar are great because they are interchangeable, they stay on when you pour the tea, and yet they are easy for little hands to take off and put on. The packaging is also nice, it is three pieces of recycled cardboard, and one rubber band holding the spoons together. So easy to open! No tape or twist ties! And we can recycle the cardboard, and the rubber band is biodegradable. Wonderful! Oh, and the best part? MADE IN THE USA!!! My daughter absolutly loves this tea set, and has been playing with it like crazy. WAAAYY better than the annoying musical tea set out there, she didn't even want to play with that one.

We just received this tea set yesterday. I am thrilled with it for many reasons. The product is extremely sturdy, the package was so easy to open and recyclable and it is made here in the USA. Except for sleep, my daughter has not stopped playing with it. I will be recommending this to all my friends with children.

I purchased this set for my daughter for Christmas. I like that it's recycled and safe. I like the size of the cups, this is a 'child' sized set, not a 'doll' or 'toy' sized set, meaning that the cups are a good size for a child to actually use. Therein lies the problem. Children want to actually USE a tea set. Not just pretend to pour tea or water but fill the teapot with an actual fluid and pour it out.

The teapot has two problems. One, the spout opening is level with the opening on the top of the pot where the lid rests, this means if a small child who is still learning motor skills tips the pot farther to speed up pouring it ends up dumping water out of the top of the pot making a mess. The BIG problem with this set is that the teapot LEAKS.

There have been other complaints about this. People have said they've contacted the company and were promised a non leaking teapot. Well, I got the set. I gave it to my daughter for Christmas and I had water all over the place. I thought it was from her being careless or messy. I watched her and found that no matter how careful she was being, water was leaking all over as she poured. I had to take it from her to save my floors. Talk about an upset child.

I emailed the company Christmas night. I did get a reply two days later saying that they are aware of the problem (but apparently still sell the defective sets!) and had "made efforts to stop this problem." They offered to send a replacement (non-leaking, I assumed) teapot "Monday when I'm back in the office." I replied that I did want a replacement.

That was December 28th. I JUST received the replacement teapot (sans lid) on January 31 one MONTH after I was told it would be sent! It arrived POSTAGE DUE! Guess what? It leaks just as bad as the old one. DON'T buy this product if you actually want your children to be able to play with and enjoy it without getting water (or tea) all over everything! I did tell Green Toys that I would be waiting on their reply and the replacement before leaving feedback on Amazon.

This tea set is the best I've ever seen. It's made from recycled materials in the USA and is even okay'd by the FDA as safe even to eat off of! That's amazing. The style is very adorable, and the lids are even interchangeable. My daughter fell in love with this set right away.

BEST PART: This set came in a 100% recycleable box with no wires holding things together!!! The only other packaging with a rubber band holding the spoons together.

Please spend the extra money and support a safe, reliable and eco-friendly American company!

This is a great toy, and the packaging is wonderful! It is a rare toy these days that can actually be taken out of the package by the child who receives it!

We were disappointed that the teapot leaked, as another reviewer had noted. However, I e-mailed Green Toys about the problem, and they very promptly shipped a replacement teapot to my daughter, along with a hand-written note of apology. This teapot does not leak! Kudos to Green Toys for being very responsive to their customers!

I agree with the entire review by "Techno Junkie" but I wanted to add that this tea set is the perfect size. My toddler is 2 1/2 years old and I wanted a tea set that wasn't teensy-weensy. I wanted a true child-sized tea set. I don't know if anyone else has posted the measurements so:

Each cup is about 3" wide including handle, and about 2" high.

The teapot itself is a generous 7" from spout to handle, and about 4" high.

We huck them all around each day during our mad hatter's tea party, and they are holding up beautifully. This company only makes a few different toys. I want them to make more!

**See Update Below** We gave this to our four year old for her birthday about 10 days ago and our three little girls (4 years and 2 year old twins) have played with it at least once every day since. They absolutely love it! This has amazed me since they lose interest with most toys pretty quickly. I am also really happy to know that it is BPA and Phtalate-free so I can fill it with warm tea without worry, though they are just as happy to have it filled with plain water. It is the pouring and sipping that they love. And we had a problem with the tea pot leaking water out of the hole under the spout, which was making a mess every time it was poured, but I contacted the company via e-mail and they sent me a replacement pot that day. Excellent customer service! This is a great, inexpensive toy that I highly recommend!
**UPDATE** The replacement tea pot leaked as well, so I contacted Green Toys again and they sent a third tea pot. To my dismay, this tea pot also leaks. I can't believe that more people have not commented about this since surely it's not just happening to us! Nonetheless, as loved as this set is, we almost never use it because I get so tired of the huge mess that it makes. Because of this flaw, I can no longer recommend it.
**FINAL UPDATE** Green Toys sent me the 4th tea pot this week and said that they they now have a new manufacturer because of this very problem (leaky pots). I am happy to say that this tea pot doesn't leak at all! We are now very happy with this set and I can once again highly recommend it!

My 17-month-old daughter received this as a gift, and we couldn't be more delighted with it. I'll second all the other reviews that commented on the safety and eco-friendliness of the set, but I also like the simplicity of it. No characters, no batteries, no beeps or flashes-- yet she's played with it every day since she got it. The slightly textured pieces haven't showed teeth marks yet, even though she carries the cups around in her mouth like a puppy

I bought one of the other Green Toys a while back, so when this tea set came out I got it right away for my daughter. This is an adorable set, the colors are great, and it's made in the USA!!! it's made from recycled milk containers.

I have three kids, my oldest is 11. He got a kitchen & dish set when he was 2, so I have 9 years experience with plastic toy dishes, lol. The first set was okay, but has become brittle over time.

But this set? Wow. It feels good, feels like it will last forever. My 2 year old absolutely loves it, she spent all of Christmas morning making tea for us. And two months later, she still does. My 6 year old likes it too, and when a friend's little one bent a spoon all the way over, it bent back without leaving a stress mark in the plastic-- you can't tell which one was bent.

The packaging was great, easy to open, and so nice to not have a billion zip ties to cut. That's such a pain when you have an excited toddler. I totally recommend this set, and will probably be sending it to my nieces & nephews too.
