Very solid product with good packaging. Well made. The touch of color is nice. The size is good for 5-9 yrs. or so.

I went looking for a jump rope for my six year old, shortly after she learned how to jump rope. From my own childhood I remembered, that the plastic ropes always twisted, broke, and also they hurt a lot, when you accidentally got whipped with it. So when I found this jump rope from Green Toys, I was curious about it. It has turned out to be great. First of all, it is made from recycled elements, which warms my eco friendly heart. Second, it's an actual rope, not a plastic thing. And third, you can adjust the length of the rope to fit your child. The handles have this little lock mechanism, so you can push part of the rope into the handle, and then lock it into place. Since getting it, my daughter has improved her jump roping drastically. She went from doing a few jumps, to now jumping in place, moving, jumping backwards, and so many times in a row, we stopped counting. It's great exercise, and it makes me want one for myself!

Bought this for my daughter's birthday. She has had fun with it so far and is pretty happy with it. The handles are of harder plastic than they appear in the picture online. Look kind of rubbery in the Amazon pics. Has held up well so far but only had for 2 months now. Would buy this product again.

Green Toys has made a winner with this fantastic little jump rope. The handles are made out of the trademark Green Toys recycled HDPE, while the rope itself is heavy-duty thick undyed cotton rope.

The rope can easily be adjusted. You just grab onto the top and bottom of the rope handles, twist, and the two pieces pop apart. Loosen the knot, move it down, and slide the excess rope into the long part of the handle. You can actually double the excess rope inside the handle, so this rope can be shortened a great deal without compromising its later use as your child grows taller. Once done, you just twist the two pieces of the handle back together until you hear a satisfying 'click' and you're done.

One minor complaint is that the rope, when fully extended, is a little too short for me to effectively use to demonstrate the concept to my four year old, who happens to be a little slower at picking up these sorts of coordinated movements. Anyway I'm 5'3", so I would say that this rope would be unusable to anyone above 5' tall. However, it can easily be adjusted in the other direction. My daughter is 3'4" and I had no problem shortening it enough to make it the correct length for her.

So, bottom line, for the target age group this is a fantastic, well-made jump rope. I wasn't sure if it was worth the extra cost but took a chance in ordering, and I'm glad I did. It's worth it.

My 5 year old recently figured out how to jump rope with one of the flimsy dollar store jump ropes. When she started getting a bit better (more than 5 in a row) the cheapie rope just wasn't doing it, not enough weight to the rope, so it wouldn't carry over very well. I ordered this one after reading the reviews and I am very pleased with it. The rope has enough weight to carry over well, but doesn't hurt if she misses a skip. Love the pink handles and the fact that it is recycled. It is adjustable, so it should last for quite awhile. We've had it for a few months now with no problems or drawbacks. If you are looking for a good jumprope, this is the one to get!

We love this jump rope and feel great about purchasing something that is Made in America and is safe. No worries about BPA and other chemicals. As others have stated, the rope has a nice weight and this makes it easier for my five year old daughter to get it to swing correctly. The handles are a good size for her hands and they don't slip. Very, very pleased.

This jump rope seems very durable, but its just too short for my 7 yr old. It's adjustable, so you would think the longest length would be larger. The description says 6 ft and it definately is not, so I must have got a lemon or no one else noticed. If they all are really this small it would be best for smaller children, but I dont know many toddlers that jump rope..

The handles are thick and easy for a child to hold and we really liked that the rope was adjustable (remove cap on one handle and cut rope to desired length, retie knot and close handle). This is a great first jump rope for a child.

Very nice jumping rope. Handles are adjustable, which is very appreciated as kids grow. Handles are durable; they can even withstand falls on asphalt. Great product for little girl.

This jumprope is lightweight, easy to use. Hands grip well. Rope is sturdy and not prone to tangling, twisting up, or bunching up the way the plastic jumpropes are. Great find!
